Wow acid was a let down

i dropped a microdot and a half a few days ago and was pretty disappointed by it.

I think i understand the drug better now and would expect to have a more positive experience on return but shit...

All the stuff you've always heard: 'young man on acid thought he could fly' etc and all the hype, i was expecting instantaneous and giddy grace, and was pretty bummed when i didnt get it.

Mistake 1: took it at midnight
Mistake 2: wild expectations (fucking gummy bear happy land)
Mistake 3: bourne of mistake one - i lay in bed spazzing out for about six hours, plenty of the old 'fuck im dreaming but im awake' (most dramatic version ever admittedly...) and plenty of visuals, though some smacked of rusty mind mechanics which was not enjoyable (get enough of that shit thanks lol ta rofl)

The visuals were all fucking inverted and shit and the only time i was beautified was when i rubbed my eyes and got a pure 2001 a space oddessey going on.

I learnt some lessons on the garden game i guess, when i forced myself out of bed due to early morning sunlight.

But was just pretty gutted, fucking idiot expectations it seems in hindsight, but then, what do the tales and the myth and the image and history kind of put in your head?
Its probably cos i was sitting in alone, trying to go to sleep an hour after dosing. Next time im going out, but i guess i had to find out what i could handle on the stuff...

Basically it was a bit weak, my timing was poor.

Goddamn hype! But flip it, take it outside, and im probably buzzing my tits off... remains to be seen  :mushroom2: but yeah

yeah, you expected too much, and imo microdots are usually well under par in regards to potency.

next time try taking a walk, listening to music etc.
the drug can only do so much, the creation of the rest of the expierence is up to YOU!

People also misinterpret what others tell them. So much of it is in the head. But people are expecting the crazy cartoon land with elves and portals and shit to happen off the smallest dose and every time.

THe problem is a good acid trip is impossbile to transfer into words. Its like trying to use a basket of oranges to communicate the engineering required to build a jet engine

I agree your first mistake was doing it at night.

I would have to say that acid was by far my favorite drug. I did it in the day a few times before doing it at night. The nighttime trip was not even close to as good... just wasn't as fun. No visuals because it was dark!!!

Secondly, you stayed inside? You need to be outside in the woods or on the beach, somewhere beautiful, and oh man it makes it so much better.

First time I did it, I was living in Hawaii, I did it at a remote beach. Jungle, waterfalls, sun, flowers...the works...

Lastly, has anyone had sex on acid? First time I was with my girlfriend and we had in our tent... I just have to say it was the best I've ever had.

i think i experienced a learning curve this time, though im not gonna rush into another dose, the stuff probably has to be respected and im still getting oranges popping out of the jet engine (or something...) i have to admit

dammit, and who mentioned portals?! more fuel for the fire...  :crazy:  :tongue2: :sun:

i mean, it was weird, i felt like i was coming up on an e or something, but my mind was caught in between intruige and apathy (bedtime, scene). i had a go on my guitar and that was pretty cool but my heart wasn't in it in all truth. Definitely a little promise but it wasn't the time for the lsd to really bloom i guess. not as fuzzy as teh shrooms either so i sat there grumbling to myself even at that...
There'll be a time when i can grow some love a little better in the midst of the medicine i think, i look forward to it now that ive dipped a little toe  :tongue:

My first two times on acid were too weak. Then my third time was way too strong. Every time since then has been just right.

Yeah maybe you just got some weak doses? Acid is absolutely mind blowing..if you were disappointed then it was probably weak.

i have pretty vivid acid trips. but yeah several times i have taken very low doses and visualy i was pretty pissed.

i took like 5 or 8 micro dots and i was scared i died from over doseing.
but i was with 3 other people frying, plus one that was sober. and i thought i got them all dead from haveing the idea of doing the dots. and the sober one was like a guild.

Yeah, I have some friends like that. They eat only one hit and claim that it was magical. I always took 3 or more to experience "magic". Anything less was just a tease.

yes laying down is probly the most sobering thing you can do on acid. when on lsd. the more you do the more you get in return. the entire trip is an exersise in physics and chemistry.
a while back i took a bit too much acid at a festival i ended up having to lay down for a good 8 fours of the 18 hour trip. i couldent walk or do anyting every movment spawned a flowering echo in space. every thought contained infanate othe rhtoughts. i was existing in on a planet far far away if it could even be called a planet. laying down in my tent and falling into a haze was my one savior. if you want to get more out of your dose. do somthing. bike, skate. paint.

My 1st time doing LSD was a dissapointment thinking 'what? thats it....'

But since then, I've had so many trips that have gone so far above and beyond what I ever thought LSD could do and have shattered my notions of reality in ways I never knew possible.

I remeber reading trip reports on Erowid and thinking "God, these people must be making this shit up", now, I read over some of my old trip reports (I usually write one every time, even if I dont post it, simply to make sense of the trip) -- and when reading them I think "Fuck, if I hadnt been expierncing that trip 1st hand, I'd think this was bullshit also" - cartoon houses swinging from trees, the world looking like a big ball of melting wax, full-on villages forming in tree's with millions of entities in them. The visuals can get so incredibly complex, detailed and abstract that I could write a 3,000 word essay trying to put it into words - and even then, it wont come close to fully describing the expierence.

Like, this trip report I wrote, its about 6 pages long, and even at that - I left out loads of things, and what I did write down doesnt come close to capturing the whole expierence (hell, I dont even talk about the visuals that much, which were so over the top fantastic it was amazing, better then I could of ever imangied LSD being)

And to me, LSD is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much more then just 'pretty visuals' - yeah, visuals were the primary attraction on the 1st few trips, but once you sort of get over the novelty of the visuals there is SO much more that acid can do for you its insane. But, you wont really 'get it' untill it happens to you.

LSD is a beautiful thing, dont let a dissapointing 1st trip turn you off from trying it again.

Thats pretty encouraging, im not going to let it be my last time thats for sure.

Im surprised by the consensus im getting that dots are regarded as pretty weak in potency, in the past id been assured that dots were fucking strong, this was in the days when any lsd was uber hard to come by.

it was all like 'dots are the bomb, yo' even though we are english
