Billy Nershi is leaving SCI.

"After summer 2007, Billy Nershi is leaving The String Cheese Incident to pursue other musical projects. There will be only a limited number of Incidents between now and then.  Current plans include Thanksgiving in Atlanta, a New Years Eve blowout in San Francisco, Winter Carnival in Colorado, and a return to Red Rocks. Presently, there are no plans for The String Cheese Incident beyond summer of 2007.
The band would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our friends and fans for all your support. "

Shitty, I did not expect this.  I had some amazing times with SCI, beautiful moments in my life that shall always stand out, and will be fondly remembered for the rest of my life.  Much love to Billy & the rest of SCI, and much luck in all your future endeavors. Honestly. who gives a fuck if that guy leaves? I mean, he was the worst player in the band, imo. I have seen them numerous times and I'll be the first amoung MANY that I much prefer the rest of the band's jamming instead of his garbage voice and Jimmy Buffet image that he spews on the jam scene. I really think SCI will benefit from this. I really do.

I never really got into SCI
I've enjoyed some of their earlier recordings though.
Either way, there's some folks who are really dedicated to this band and my sympathies go out to them. (or not, whichever is most productive)
