Got my nose broken last night

I was at my boxing gym doing our regular sparring and one of the newbies, some kung fu student, wanted to do MMA style fighting (which I do), but since I have a REAL fight (i.e. for money) this saturday night, we were going to do light contact. The freaking slope kicked me in the face and broke my nose, what a douchebag! So now I have to fight Saturday night with a broken nose, an obviously broken nose. We kicked Ho Chi Mingh out of our gym after his little faux pas, but I'm still gimped up. I packed it up with cotton balls and I'm putting steam towels on it pretty frequently to control the swelling.

I freeakin' hate stupid ass people!

why didn't you beat the shit out of him? i mean, you are a fighter after all.

anyways, that sucks man. i bet it hurts to get punched in the nose over and over again when it's already broken.

Yeah that would suck to have to go into a match with that freshly of a broken nose. Postpone that shit man or try real damn hard not to get punched in the nose.

God damn man, how are you going to fight with a broken nose, I mean you can't exactly make it off-limits.  If your opponent knows it's broken, can't he own you?  Or am I missing something...I'm not really sports oriented :confused:

going into a fight like that must suck, but you can do it man, just really trust your skill. but i mean in fight people get there nose busted often enough during matches so i guess the fight must go on.

Yea, I'm planning on just starting off with a running leap into a flying knee, knock him out in .2 seconds. But, i'll prolly botch that and take some blows to the nose

The pain from the broken nose is a fighter's least concern... It's the teary eyes and flowing blood that will make it tough... been there. :smile:

And change your mood setting before someone reports you!

Dude, that sucks. I hope you made him pay for that high kick before you realized you were hurt. I don't know why/how people wanna throw high kicks (or almost any kicks) in MMA. Tell me you got a take down and put him out first :smile:.

I've had a lifelong interest and practice in martial arts, but never got hardcore enough for full on MMA pay fights. Good luck! At least you know your opponent will be inclined towards punching you in the nose - fat lotta help that is.
