My advice about tattoos is find something that you have strong beliefs for and get a tattoo portraying it, something you wont grow out of you know. And yea there are always the tattoos that have no direct meaning, they just look damn cool and portay a certain emotion, which is good too but becareful with these, pick something you wont get tired of. And if you havent decided by time you graduate dont let yourself feel rushed into getting something, take your time and find somethign you can commit with.

It sounds obvious but its unbelievable how many people get tired of their tattoo in less than their first year of having it...

and lingering destiny: yeah, i plan on getting something that if i ever get to 70, i can show to my grandkids and say *now back in iraq, i got this when i killed 10 scuicide bombers with just my Gerber and a toothpick, but back then we only had 800 channels and we had internet so slow, it may take 10 seconds or more sometimes to load a page...those were the days... :laugh:

I'm planning on giving myself a tattoo this week. I've got a nice professional setup at my painting studio, unfortunately, I've only practiced on fake skin and a few small ones on friends. But before I start doing anything serious on another human being, I feel like I have to do myself first. It's kind of like a mental block or something, I just need to pop my cherry to gain the confidence to work on someone else.

I'm thinking a big, blue parrot on my calf to express my inner Buffet.
I'll let you know how it goes.

I use my pressure cooker as an autoclave. It's safe.....maybe.

Make sure they use glove, new pins, new ink and they should open in front of you, the place is clean, not some van down by the river  . If not walk out, Hepatitis C or is it A or B, HIV/AIDS, isn't fun. :cool:

PLEASE don't get a tattoo until you have a clear idea of what you want to have permanently embedded in your skin. Ideally, if you plan on getting more tattoos down the road, you should plan ahead. I'm getting a tattoo this Friday, but I already have my next three tattoos planned out already.

heh, im not doin it myself.

my dad gets back from iraq in 12 days. im going to get one with him. he already has a few, but i think he will get one with me.

so im thinking the traditional japanese kind of koifish mixed with tribal. i know this sounds odd, but i have it in my mind at it looks amazing.

if only i could draw...

I love all my tattoos, even the ones I don't like. I may look at one that I got when I was 16 and say "What the fuck was I thinking" but it still reminds me of that point in my life and what I was like back then.
