Interesting.

I've been reading about Stirling motors and hybridizing ICEs to reclaim the heat and effectively double, or more, the MPG. Very cool stuff as well.

well america, in the net 20 years is going to try and wean off petrolium and use sugarcane or corn...of course thats kind of old as well...

i havnt been keeping up with the science channel lately due to school.

ill hit you guys up when i do find something new, though...

Biodiesel is made of vegetable oil. If fact, diesel engines can run off of warmed, filtered vegetable oil. When they start they use diesel to warm up then switch to the veggie oil.

The technology is coming along.

Sugarcane and corn can be used to make ethanol, yes. But ethanol isn't going to be the new petroleum. We're going to use many, many alternatives.

That's an ugly ass car.

I'd rather drive my gas guzzing Blazer.

Is it really necessary to make these new cars so fucking ugly? Maybe more people would consider driving them if they weren't so expensive and stupid looking.

It's clever, but ultimately I doubt It will see anykind of wide spread production. On another note, this engine contains more bearings and moving parts than an otto or wankel engine.

They make some allusions to the engine making more torque because of it's con-rod system. which is kind of irrelevent when your talking about moving a 2 person car around. torque is simply a static measurment of load. Wouldn't they want to advertise how much horsepower it had (how much work the car could actually do over a given period of time).
