I did home schooling for two of my highschool years because I was a social retard. I could only have one or two good friends at any given time, and could never interact in large groups or be 'the
life
of the party' so to speak.

My situation was a bit different because I dealt with a certified teacher for one hour a week, but I still didn't learn shit. The course-work was subpar even compared to highschool.

Community college and a desperate need to socialize are helping me to become more outgoing, but I will always be an introvert. INTJ for those who know what I'm talking about.

At a few days away from 22, I finally feel like I'm beginning to understand how extroverted people think/feel/act, but rewiring my brian to function similar to extroverts is a complicated process, as
I'm naturally over-analytical, paranoid, and depressed.

I think most of my 'problems' as I see them are hereditary opposed to conditioned because my homelife/social life was not bad, just boring.

I will either home school or private school my children. I'm afraid if I send my children to public school they will end up into little promiscuous, materialistic Myspace children. I would mock them constantly if they winded up as the latter.

Maybe they would mock you in return, for saying "winded up as the latter".  It realy worries me, some of these posts about home schooling your kids.  I hope some of you guys plan on hiring
specific
tutors or something...if not, we're going to have a lot of kids with subpar intelligence running around.  No offense, but not just anyone is qualified to teach a child.  :shrug:

I am a high school dropout and I share community college classrooms with people fresh out of high school. And they are all idiots. It could not be much worse.

Most of them intend on going to Rutgers, the state university which is considered a very good university. My point was the majority of people who graduate high school are obnoxious and dull.

That has nothing to do with high school.

Having your kid learn to navigate his way through them and be his own self...now that's a challenge worth working through.

That is true. But the curriculum taught in public school is awful. Statistics on how this country's youth is beginning to rank against countries in Europe and Asia show us in the 10-20 rank range.

hell, it is your responsibility to teach your kids emotional and moral values but why alienate them from their peers by homeschooling them. Get a good job and send your kids to a decent district. if
somehow I had knowledge of what my life would be like going to school and then was forced into being homeschooled I would be furious. taking the initiative with your kids and getting them to learn
outside of school is great if you can persuade them. the beautiful thing about high school is that it's a great place to get out all that energy and curiosity which manifests itself in stupid ass
behavior so one can focus on some shit that matters, like college or a career.
