I think I just butchered this paleontology lab exam.

Thats the bad news.

The good news is that all 8 of us walked out of the room with the same bemused look on our faces. The study guide we got in NO WAY prepared us for this. This was easily the hardest exam I've taken in school, and I'm a senior Geophysics major with alot of really shitty classes under my belt.

Basically, there were 100 different fossils layed out on the table when you walked in the room, and for each one you needed to know...

1. Mode of Preservation
2. When the Organism Lived
3. One other random question the professor picked...

I'm fine on the Preservation, thats pretty easy.

LOL, just as I'm typing this, someone else walked in the computer lab and said "Well, I failed that one".

Anyway, the other stuff just kicked my ass. I got every single Timeframe question wrong, I'm almost positive.

And the random questions were just obscure...Like, "What are the spicules of this order of Demospongia composed of?"

Who the fuck knows? I certainly didnt study for that...

2.5 hours on this thing, and probably 20 hours studying in the last week just to blow it...

WOW. I'm going to go home, crawl under the covers and get blazed out of my skull and try to forget that this ever happened.

Did I mention I have to take some undergrads on a field trip this weekend to fucking IOWA, and its supposed to SNOW this weekend? And we are CAMPING?

Fuck I'd just kill myself right there. Stick my arm in a woodchipper or something.

If everyone fucked up that bad it's no big deal. The prof doesn't want it to look like s/he's a shitty instructor. It'll probably get thrown out or curved or there will be some kind of alternate grade or something.

And find a hot young thing who wants to conserve body heat!

It's been my experience that someone ALWAYS fucks up the curve.  I never have a sigh of relief when the professor says they're going to curve it.

don't feel bad, I'm most likely going to fuck up an Anthropology test here in about 2 hours.

I'm getting prepared for it though :blazed:
