cleaning your peices

all you stoners out there, whats your method?

i just recently decided to try out some of that 420 cleaner they got at the head shops. must say it works quite well, my mushelle looks like new. id take a pic if i still had my digi, but you will just have to take my word for it. all you resin smokers probably wont like it too much, my brother was practically begging me to let him scrape her. but the shit really does the trick.

heres a pic of her just for the fuck of it cuz im stoned and im happy shes not a dirty little girl anymore :smirk:

i have heard that vinegar works just as good as that 420 cleaner stuff

Rubbing alcohol and sea salt. I just let the pipe set in a ziplock bag over night, then use a q-tip on the hard to reach areas.

420 is just ok imo. I used to work at a local head shop and I found Bling works better. Less of an aftertaste too. It only takes about a half hour tops to clean too.

420 works good.. but rubbing alcohol + salt works just as good and is cheeeep.

Definitely get some Bling or 420 Cleaner from your nearest headshop.  That stuff works wonders.  I got a diffuser for my old and dirty bong, and picked up some cleaner for shits and giggles.  I shook it up, squirted some into the bong and it melted through the resin like no other.  This stuff is insane :thumbup:

I once heard of using Listerine to clean a pipe, seeing as it's fairly strong alcohol anyway. I'm not sure how well it would lift the resin, but I suppose there's the minty aftertaste to look forward to. :grin:

I might have to upload a photo of my little friend to this thread. It's a stone piece with skull shaped bowl (which, I might add, is deep enough to pack a good half gram without trouble) :thumbup:

I wasn't all that impressed with 420. I've never tried the iso+salt method but I'll definitely give it a shot next time. Just put it in a ziploc over night you say?

Ziplocks leak. Use tuperware, sometimes it takes 2 days soaking+ shake

im not sure if its true or not, but ive "heard" that iso can have some negative effects to the glass, ie its coloring and what not. sounds like bs to me, but what ever... so how bout it, does that sound at all likely?

I've used ISO on the same pipe 5+ times.
It's fine, cheap, and effective.
Which reminds me I need to do mine again

borosilicate glass is chemical and thermal shock resistant, there's no chance
alcohol will affect it
