I hate milk that has that funny aftertaste

This is the third gallon I've bought recently that has that nasty aftertaste, I have to hold my breath after I swallow it just so I don't taste it. I've never had gross milk that was organic, they pasteurize it way higher than they do regular milk and it's much cleaner tasting. I just wish if wasn't so fucking expensive!
I want to eat all organic food actually, eliminating preservatives sounds so much healthier but damn it really isn't for people without a lot of money.

im not even willing to get into arguments with people about the milk issue. i did my research. blood and puss indeed.
think about it, they pump the cows up with all kinds of steroids and hormones so that they produce more milk to make more money. the shots make the cows milk sacks enlarge so big that they will be dragging on the ground (ive seen video of this). the milk sacks develope cysts and all kinds of nasty shit resulting in blood and puss. its not like the milk companies are going to tell you about this stuff. the whole idea of it just grosses me out, i refuse to drink milk and if you do drink that vile sickness at least get organic milk...
ironic enough, i still eat cheese because im addicted to it like every other american. but i cannot and will not drink straight milk it is just too gross after what ive learned about it.
and for my coffee i only use soy milk. it took me a while to get used to soy milk but now i really enjoy it more than i ever did half and half. but the only thing i use it for is coffee for the most part.
Am I still a vegetarian hippie? -no comment. i dont have the time to get into it with you all:)

yea theres a part in the corporation (documentary) about the hormone they use to increase milk production in cows. its fucking sick I always had a creepy thing with milk as well, even before watching it just something about it it doesn't bother me when its cooked with something or in cereal though. I only drink a glass if I'm having some acid reflex and dont have my medication on hand, it neutralizes it and gives a nice coating along my throat that helps as well

Try raw milk. From pasture fed cows, no hormones, un-pastuerized.
http://www.realmilk.com/
pasteurized milk tastes like crap to me. Especially since it comes from grain-fed cows that are pumped full of hormones and antibiotics and all sorts of other crap.

I don't mind drinking milk because I only use it for chocolate milk, cooking, or cereal. Milk is one of the only ways to get calcium really, and if you don't get calcium when you're young your bones will be weak and you might have a lot of problems when you're old.

Most soy milk actually has just as much calcium as regular milk.

Oh I didn't know that, my mom and step dad drink soy but I always refused.. I grew up drinking milk so it's not a big deal to me now. If I knew what I know now when I was little then I would definitely not drink milk.

Umm.. you are seriously misinformed if you think milk is one of the only ways to get calcium..
Just a few: seaweeds such as kelp, wakame and hijiki; nuts and seeds (like almonds and sesame); blackstrap molasses; beans; oranges; amaranth; collard greens; okra; rutabaga; broccoli; dandelion leaves; kale; sardines; and fortified products such as orange juice and soy milk
Quote:
Many green vegetables have absorption rates of more than 50 percent, compared with about 32 percent for milk. In 1994, the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reported calcium absorption to be 52.6 percent for broccoli, 63.8 percent for Brussels sprouts, 57.8 percent for mustard greens, and 51.6 percent for turnip greens. The calcium absorption rate from kale is approximately 40 to 59 percent. Likewise, beans (e.g., pinto beans, black-eyed peas, and navy beans) and bean products, such as tofu, are rich in calcium. *Also, about 36 to 38 percent of the calcium in calcium-fortified orange juice is absorbed (as reported by manufacturer's data).
