2 of my favorite places round these parts

weed is pretty much as legal as it can get in nimbin for a place where it actually is illegal. it's a tiny town where every single shop is weed related. instead of billabong, they have bringabong, they got a hemp bar, hemp museum. ladies on the street older than your grandma selling the strongest pot cookies you've ever had. i've heard it's the number 1 place in the world in the cannabible. it's a pretty wild place, if anyones interested i got a bunch of pictures of what it's like over there, but since i gotta resize em and all i'll only post em if people are interested.

HT how could i forget Ashland! They got shakspear in the park for a week each year. I also think they have theatrical perfomances at one of the many many outdoor or indoor theaters at least once a day.

Corvalis is a cool college town, with a bunch off good music. Check out a band called The Hounds.

Cougar hot springs is a hippy delight! you will know why when you get there.

i might miss the 10/22 show, as i have class at 8:30 on 10/23 and am not sure if i can make it back all spun on sunday night, but should be going to the friday & saturday shows

i skipped them in chicago this past weekend to go to a harvest fest in northern michigan, with a bunch of great bluegrass/roots music - also because DSO was playing in mid-michigan on sunday, and i figured it'd be a pain to go to chicago on saturday, back here on sunday morning, and up north again sunday evening. unfortunately school has started full force for me, so i'm stuck reading way too much 19th century german philosophy... waiting for yonder to come to town on 10/19, then hit up those two, maybe three days, of bobby tour, and then probably nothing until sts9 for new years :frown:

k_c - i'll hit you up a bit before the chicago show. i'll probably go with some kids from here, but might end up driving seperately as they'll probably go to the show on sunday that i'm thinking i'll have to skip

Man, I haven't been to a good show in almost a year and a half. Hearing you all talk about WSP, DSO, Ratdog, Phil.... it makes me sad thinking of all the great music I am missing. As hip a place as Maui is, it's not exactly on the tour scene... even less so than my previous residence in Iowa. At least we get some good reggae acts here on a regular basis....

Yep. AWESOME awesome hippy town, i love it. its only 15 minutes from my house and I visit it as much as possible.

oh, and, no - they played in chicago last saturday, but i went up by cadillac for a harvest festival on seth bernard's farm, and then to gr on sunday for dso instead of heading to see them.

i think the next (sts9) shows i'll catch are the 29-31st dec in atl

Can't beat the center of pot sub-culture in the country... plus in one day you can smoke some of the best weed in, some say, the world, swim badass beach, hike in the redwoods, and snowboard on the mountains. :cool:
