A Vero Beach man was arrested Friday after a deputy found him with a bag of "magic" mushrooms in a cow pasture.
Yunus Emre Ozturk, 18, was charged with a felony count of possession of psilocybin mushrooms, according to an arrest report.

A deputy said he was patrolling near Johnson Road around 10:30 a.m. when he saw a suspicious car parked near a cow pasture and suspected someone was picking mushrooms. He waited in the bushes for about 20 minutes before a man, later identified as Ozturk, came out of the pasture with a brown paper bag, the report states.
He told the deputy he eats the mushrooms and makes tea out of them because it "lets him take a trip and it feels spiritual," the report states. He was released from the St. Lucie County Jail on $10,000 bond.

Make drugs legal, or alcohol and tobacco illegal. Either way it's more fair.

You just need to be smart about how you pick mushrooms. It's not necessarily a given that the cop has some prejudice against hallucinogenic mushrooms. Sometimes people go out picking mushrooms just so they can sell them. What happens if that person picks a poisonous one and sells that and someone dies? That would make the cop a hero. I'm not saying the cop is a hero by any means, but there are some grounds for reason. Point being, if you're going to pick mushrooms, make 100% positive you're not going to attract attention. At least if you're going to park a car, leave a note that says "Car broke down, be back in 6 hours" or something like that so the cop doesn't wait around too long.

Or how about not at 10:30 am.

Does anybody know if pocession of fresh or dry Amanita Muscaria illeagle? I see they sell them online, when I ask the vendor I get a message back saying we are not selling this to consume they are for ornamental purposes. Ok well if I was selling cocaine online to "starch wigs", I could argue that and id still got to jail so... does anybody know?

Just asking because ive been getting more and more daring with how far ill run on somebodys property to pick some amanita Muscaria. I know this comes under tresspassing, but then they find my back pack full amanitas and could it be a serious charge?
