bananna nut muffins are the best... otis spunkmeyer hooks it up... the one's at work are not his brand, and they are all greasie... it's disgusting.

do some research, buy some cup cakes, and some muffins, and compare the differences. You could even take it a step further by baking both muffins and cupcakes. This should answer any questions you have left.

Zappa cleared this up for me years ago.

The Muffin Man is seated at the table in the laboratory of the utility muffin research kitchen.  Reaching for an oversized chrome spoon he gathers an intimate quantity of dried muffin remnants, and brushing his scapular aside, proceeds to dump these inside of his shirt.

He turns to us and speaks; "Some people like cupcakes best.  I, for one, care less for them."

Arrogantly twisting the sterile canvas snoot of a fully-charged icing annointment utensil he puts forth a quarter-ounce green rosette near the summit of a dense but radiant muffin of his own design.

Later he says; "Some people like cupcakes exclusively, while myself, I say there is naught, nor ought there be, anything as exhalted on the face of God's great Earth as that prince of foods...The Muffin!

muffins are more fibery, and cup cakes are just cake mix and icing.. aka a mini cake.. depending on the muffin though, some are good for ya and some arnt't

but I could go for a cupcake right now.. mmmmmmmmm

Muffin= bread like

Cupcake= cake like + icing

Both are delicious.
