Hero and Villain (Lots of big pictures, slow modems beware!)
    #6042162 -

A few months ago we got a ferret and named her Hero.  We enjoyed her so much that last night we went and got a ferret, and of course had to name him Villain   He's way bigger than she is, and he's just a baby (less than a year old) and she's 2 and 1/2.

They play a lot, and last night she kept biting the scruff on the back of his neck and trying to drag him up the ramp to the 2nd level of the cage with her.  I don't know if she's being "motherly" because he's much younger than her, or if she's being "kinky" and dragging him to bed

Here's some pictures of them, as well as our dog Lucy and suffer's sister in law's dog Phoebe getting up close and personal with them  :tongue2:  Hero is the smaller, slim darker colored one, and Hero is the silverish colored big one!

 ferrets!

Ferrets are crazy, weird looking and smell odd.

You have cute dogs, though.

No, says the man in Washington; it belongs to the poor.
No, says the man in the Vatican; it belongs to God.
No, says the man in Moscow; it belongs to everyone.

Ferrets are crazy, weird looking, and do smell odd. But I think they're cute, even though they're "weird looking" and I don't think they necessarily smell bad, just musky. They only smell bad if you don't take care of them, and bathe them once in a while and clean their crate often.

I was thinking that, but maybe the tube on the left leads to another part of the cage? Or maybe it wasn't in it's cage that often?

They're kinda kewt, I guess, but I got hella_bit by my grandparents' ferrets when I was little, and I wasn't going to bathe one of those fuckers, lose a damn thumb, that way.

Three hundred years ago, they'd be killed for socks.

Yeah some of them can be REALLY vicious, but it's usually apparent the minute you pick them up whether they're nippy like that or not.  Our are really chill, and just like to be held and explore.  Hero nips, but ONLY  Lucy's nose when Lucy won't get up out of her face, and even then, she's just playing and doesn't do it hard at all.  Villain is a lazy fuck and just kind of lays there while Lucy noses him and investigates.   If I got bit by one when I was younger though, I don't think I'd like them too much.

why not today?

They could, i rock some ferret-socks.
But it'd be commonplace wherever the hell they came from before being "domesticated."
