organizing a protest
    #6032318 -

im sick of not being able to smoke pot with out getting shit.

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

i feel like i should have the right to smoke marijuana responsibly. i can function high and even respond better to stimulation sometimes when im high. and alot of other people i know that smoke marijauna can do just as well and just as easily can be more than i am, just as i can as easily be more than they are. i don't go around doing stupid shit. im an american who simply wishes to mind his own business with out having others force their subjectable ways on me. and i cannot do that legally, even though i am being responsible.

marijuana helps me control my anger and be innovative. although there are other ways to do such and i do go with other ways, weed is alot better.

anyways, i wanna put an end to prohibition once and for all. and i know alot of other people do. but i don't think anyone will because theyre too lazy. too caught up in theyre day to day lives and indulgences to give a shit about freedom. right now im at the short end of freedom. and at any of you could just as easily be if the state wants to put the hammer down on you. so, i figure why not try to organize a protest. i figure if i can get enough people to take to the streets, maybe i can make a point across. but, the thing is, how the hell do i do that?

by taking a stand and making a ruckus. be prepared to fight hard. don't be afraid of imprisonment. stand up for your freedom. the non violent occupation of a public space will get you some attention and draw people to your cause. maybe.

yeah, but no one takes stoners seriously because we've been stigmatized. so were automatically the antogonist to the state. you gotta get numbers to protest anyways. i was hoping on organizing it thru myspace. if i can organize it, anyone in the central florida (sarasota/tampa bay area) wanna help out?

Its hard to fight back. People don't want to hear scientific proof or proof of anykind from "stoners"/drug users.

I'd hate to come off as an asshole but my opinion is that with all the money they are making on the drug war as it is, their not going to budge.

thats why the only way to change the system is through pretty extreme actions that no-one is prepared to take.

You know what. Have you seen the TRUTH commercials on TV? You should approach It in the same manner. You will get to many people; even some who are with you and will be happy to help for the cause...that or run around in the streets demanding.

If all of the dedicated pot smokers could come together countrywide as an organization, their best way of going about the problem would be to advertise on TV, billboards, and radio. EVERYWHERE. Not just saying leganize it, but show the people scientific evidence. Proof that it's not what the government proclaims it to be. It will take alot of money and dedication. Hell, I don't even smoke pot anymore but if this type of organization came about, I'm down Charley Brown.
You should call you'reself the president and send out letters saying something like:
We the people of the ununited states of pot smokers...like Bob said, stand up for you're rights.

Or get into a political position where you can help make changes.

well, lets keep this idea going. i like the truth commercial idea. posting big signs stating our constitutional rights and how theyve been violated and how marijuana is not harmful and how the original laws were founded on racism. if anyone is down to help, send me a message. i think putting a message out through myspace would be a good idea too.

change starts with one, who's down?

The only one of those reasons that are even close to legitimate is the last one, and that one is iffy at best.

He was talking about protesting.

In Colorado they are starting pro amendment 44 ads (legalizing pot) and when they were trying to get pot legalized in Denver they had billboards that said to the effect of , x anual deaths from alcohol, 0 from marijuana. They also had other ones but I don't remember those.

Hopefully amendment 44 passes and other states follow suit.
