rabbits are cool, I,ve had one a couple of years, tips.
1. rabbit proof your place
2. lots of love and care, they are a lot smarter, than some people give them credit for.
3. lots of fresh Timothy hay, and fresh vegs and fruits, ones low in calcium, along with the rabbit feed.

eventualy im gonna give her more space in my room and put up a little fence so she cant getinto any wires or tight places

get it fixed, litter box train it, and never stick your hands in its cage... your relationship will be fine if you do all of that...

rabbit turds are awesome.. they are hard as a rock, and you can just vacuum them up... you have to train them to piss in the box though...

I thought it was funny that I just had a conversation with my Grandpa about killing rabbits. He said in Wyoming they would pay you a buck a jack rabbit, and they made dog food out of them. I guess they were over-populated.

I use to have a rabbit when I was younger! It died because it ate fertilized grass. :frown:

My gf's had 3 bunnies up till now.  First lil dude died, he was my fav. He used to run circles around my feet.  I was later told that means he wanted to screw me.

Right now my gf's lop is at the vet.  Her foot broke, and she tried to get it operated on. Cost her 2 grand.  (yes, you read that correctly) Anyway, the worst part is that the pin popped out, and was out for god knows how long until they took the cast off to see wtf was up. Poor bunny, was probly suffering till then.  They had to amputate it.  So now we have a tripod bunny.  Should be home any day.
Anyway a few things to know:

1. Bunnies have incredibly fragile bones.  They can break their own backs if they jump 'hard' enough.  Also, we just recently learned that circulation in their bones isnt great. So once it breaks, have fun fixing it.  =\  Watch out for her.

2.  They eat their own turds. This is normal.  It's actualy pretty funny when they run around dropping those balls of shit, then running back a sec later and eating it.

3.  From experience, they're mostly cage animals. That means you let em out when you've closed the doors to your rooms, and you can watch her hop around while watching TV, or playing on the PC.

4.  I'm gonna quote a poster above.  "Bunnies and earphones dont mix".  You know those $50 sony headphones?  Yeah, you might wanna keep that tasty soft rubber cord out of her reach.  ...That probably goes for all your PC/TV cords also.    Bunnies are actualy very intelligent, just like cats.  When our bunnies go near cords and start licking/sniffing, we'll usualy make a loud 'shht!' noise, and they know that means they're doing somthing wrong.

5.  THEY LIKE LIQUOR! Hell, they like all alcohol.  All our bunnies eventualy find our piles of beer/liquor bottles, and start licking near the caps.  They'll even drink straight rum if you put some in the cap.  I dont suggest it, cuz i have no idea if this is really bad for them or not, but they WILL get into your drinks.  I think I heard that they like the barley and whatever was used to make the alcohol.

6.  If you're holding yer bunny, and she starts to freak out, it might actualy mean she really needs to piss/shit.  Put her on the floor, she'll gotto her box, or put her back in her cage for a min.  Btw, they sell 'corner' litter boxes that hook onto the cage bars.  Really handy when you need to clean em, since the shavings will usualy be clean since they'll pee in the corner box.  That saves money not having to change the whole cage all the time.

Anyway, just watch what they chew on.  They like soft rubbery things like erasers too.  Let them out frequently.  Sometimes our bunny will make tons of noise chewing on the bars wanting to come out, only to be let out, and flop down on the floor in the corner.  They know the difference in being caged up and being free.  Also, if you get another rabbit, dont get another girl.  We still havent been able to bond the 2 girls, so they get separate play time.  Btw, good choice on the lop.  Our lop is WAY more relaxed as compared to our current dwarf, and previous dwarf bunnies.  The dwars are more hyperactive, and they chew on the cages way more.  The lop is very chillax, we can let it out and most of the time it'll just flop down while we're watching a movie or something.
The dwaves are funny as hell tho.  They'll just sometimes stand there, and just hop straight up for no reason.  They'll also dig their claws into the carpet and blast off full speed for no reason.  Kinda cute when yer just sitting there watching a dvd.

Oh yeah, their claws.  Its up to you if you trim them, but my gf still has a scar across her chest from a bunny clawing.  They can thrash a LOT when you give them a bath.  Then again, she always held them like a damn baby, on their backs in her arms. I kept telling her they'll kick and hurt her.  Anyway....bunnies arent too comfortable being on their backs.  Lesse what else.... timothy hay should be their main food, and pellets a supplement.
The dwarf chick has become really territorial since the lop got sick, so now my gf has to hold her down with one hand while reaching in her cage to change the bowls and such.  Good reason too, because after handling the sick/stressed out lop, she tried to pet the dwarf and got a nice chunk bitten out of her hand.  ow.

Anyway, there's a ton more stuff, but you might as well read one of the million guides on the net, i think i should probly end my novel here.

Just remember they're pretty smart.  Have a 'mad' sound you can make every time they do something bad (like go into a room theyre not supposed to or chew on a cord) and chase them away by stomping your feet and running after them.  Eventualy, you can just make the noise and they'll know whats up.

Have fun with your lop.
:sun:

Hey... rabbits are smart, as already said... even if you have a fence or whatever make sure you block access to dangerous places...

My ex bought a little one a year ago and she decided my place was the best place for the bunny, this furry thing just kept going behind the fridge i don't why but he would go over any obstacle i set, i think they just luv holes as they live in there naturaly.

too much trouble for me alone; he would eat more and more until it was not funny anymore just a huge thing shitting all over my place (still had its adorable thing but it was just too much annoyance), we took'm out to country and set him free (probly condemned cause of domestication but a good meal for another good creature n_n ) in the middle of a huge goodbye drama performed by me chick.

have fun!
