I went to st thomas and camped out ontop of the island... Despite my entire family being poor all my life, the land is priceless.

There's two types of people regarding this movie:

1. "I don't know why anyone would see a movie about snakes on a plane. And why didn't they come up with a different title?".

These are the clueless people who take life too seriously. The movie was made as a joke. It's popular becuase the premise is funny, it has Samuel L. Jackson, and it's a movie that takes itself lightly.
Why doesn't it have a different title? Becuase Samuel motherfuckin Jackson wasn't gonna have it. They wanted to use a different title and make the movie kid friendly, but the people(bloggers) and SLJ weren't having that shit.

2. People that know what type of movie it was meant to be, and is. Carefree souls that enjoy a good laugh. Probably the type of people that can see their own flaws and laugh at them...as the movie does.

Exactly! "Snakes on a Plane" had a very organized and powerful internet-based lobbying group, and so the IMDb rating is basically fixed (the ballot box was stuffed). I would expect to see its rating slowly go down over the next year...

And besides, everyone knows that Gamera could kick those snakes arses anyway...

I enjoyed Snakes on a Plane because it was a simple, stupid movie. It was reminiscent of old b-rated horrors. It didn't try to be really funny or really serious, and it shows. I think the fact that the movie didn't try is what makes it just plain enjoyable to watch. Plus the scooby doo ending makes it seem almost exactly like one of those campy horror films.

Also, the movie reminds me a lot of Quinten Tarintino's movies. There's humor, but a lot of it is morbid. 90% of the funny stuff is akin to the dancing torture scene in reservoir dogs, or the over-the-top blood squirting in Kill Bill. Its serious and funny at the same time.

It's more about the party than the actual movie. My brother went to see it with his buddies. They all snuck alcohol in along with rubber snakes to toss around.

Expect the theater to be like  this  especially on a Friday or Saturday night, unless you're going to a small town theater.

I am sick and tired of these motherfuckin SNAKES on this motherfuckin PLANE!

Look guys, and I'm talking to all the people who are too cool to enjoy Snakes on a Plane, if you don't wanna watch it, don't. I watched it and it was great! I laughed, cheered, and had a great time all the way through. It's a cheezy movie, ya. I guess I just like cheezy movies that don't take themselves too seriously. Whoever said it's for people that can recognize their own flaws and laugh at them had it spot on.

Everybody is different man. Is it wrong for others to find humor in this movie/circumstances surrounding the movie/what the movie is really all about, because you yourself do not?

mattzdope because if truly the american population is leaning towards this, it definitely points out just how NUMB the government has made this country. This excitement over pure shit is prophecy in itself, it's another sign pointing to our oncoming demise as Americans.

We're in the middle of a war, people everyday are trying to bring this country down and people are in power who shoulden't be. There's alot to think about and actions taken and then this movie comes out and people rave over it?

It's just sad, sure you people are entitled to your opinions, but damn guys wheres your mind at?
