snakes on a plane? wtf did I just witness

IMDB rates this movie as 8.3, thats higher than back to the future, next to lord of the rings. Greater than braveheart and ben-hur. even terminator 2 and alien. I watched half and had to turn it off when all I heard was screaming for 20 minutes straight and sam jackson using a pocket taser to shock snakes. Oh and they're already in the making of the sequel.... "snakes on a train"

I guess its an ironic twist, the kid in the movie witnesses a murder, I witness the murder of the movie industry.

What the fuck did I just see?

whats sad is they totally tricked everyone by insinuating the movie has a catch and its not what the preview makes it seem. I thought sam jackson being in it would make it a pulp fiction type turn around but that nigga sold his soul.

maybe the plane version is based on the train version and the mayan curse being the terrorists who plan to implode the american system by hitting it from within. Or maybe Im desperately trying to salvage meaning from an idiotic movie which I can't comprehend got an 8.3 on imdb.

"Snakes on a Plane" is one of the movie I refuse to see.

yea the WTC thing is way too early, its like america has already claimed victory and is reminiscing back on it like " we won this shit, but heres our scar" The war thats coming hasent even begun yet, it's like mel gibson trying to make $2 billion off a low budget story of jesus. I guess it presents itself as a simplistic, action-packed movie and delivers. I'd rate it well too if I went there expecting a dumb action movie and got it :shrug: If it pretended to be more, then I'd be pissed.

For me it represents typical american thinking.. Making money using the death of 3000 innocent persons. Exploiting death, shoving cruel images for the eyes of A LOT of people...

It depends on the views of a person. To me it represents pure, heartless exploitation (sp?) .

Just that stupid catchphrase: " Do not worry my friend, you are our mission" sounded really agressive in my ears, as if they knew beforehand that there were 2 survivors down there and the entire mission revolves around those 2 guys, not the 2998 others trapped in flaming rubble.

Anyways... I won't go see that movie, ever.

I haven't seen it but the previews I've seen have almost looked satirical. Thats a bummer if anyone involved acted like it was a masterpiece of horror/action... It just looks like dumb, enjoyable, drunk fun.

The high rating is because of the internet hype. There were fans even before the movie came out. The fan boys were the first in the theater and also are the first to vote. My bet is that the rating will go down when causal movie goers see it. It has already gone down from an 8.5
