snakes on a plane? wtf did I just witness
    #5983447 -

IMDB rates this movie as 8.3, thats higher than back to the future, next to lord of the rings. Greater than braveheart and ben-hur. even terminator 2 and alien. I watched half and had to turn it off when all I heard was screaming for 20 minutes straight and sam jackson using a pocket taser to shock snakes. Oh and they're already in the making of the sequel.... "snakes on a train"

I guess its an ironic twist, the kid in the movie witnesses a murder, I witness the murder of the movie industry.

What the fuck did I just see?

--------------------
I went to st thomas and camped out ontop of the island... Despite my entire family being poor all my life, the land is priceless.
I was chased by haitians in the main city charlotte amalie when my girlfriend and I got some cocaine for free in a bar and mixed it with alcohol, to form a stronger drug. With such confidence at 2am, we walked the 4-5 or so miles down to the beach where the african slaves lie like lions waiting on tourist prey.

The war isen't on drugs... the war is on the causes that influence people to abuse drugs. drug-abuse is a by-product of the system and much like radioactive waste occurs from utilizing nuclear power, drug addicts with drug-problems will need to be properly disposed of, like the decaying radioactive waste produced from nuclear energy. -i2ancid

whats sad is they totally tricked everyone by insinuating the movie has a catch and its not what the preview makes it seem. I thought sam jackson being in it would make it a pulp fiction type turn around but that nigga sold his soul.

maybe the plane version is based on the train version and the mayan curse being the terrorists who plan to implode the american system by hitting it from within. Or maybe Im desperately trying to salvage meaning from an idiotic movie which I can't comprehend got an 8.3 on imdb.

"Snakes on a Plane" is one of the movie I refuse to see.

Along with it is World Trade Center (Huh, a movie about the WTC, I wonder what's gonna happen?! :boring: )

yea the WTC thing is way too early, its like america has already claimed victory and is reminiscing back on it like " we won this shit, but heres our scar" The war thats coming hasent even begun yet, it's like mel gibson trying to make $2 billion off a low budget story of jesus. All people have to do is read the bible. It was a snuff film, nothing more.

I guess it presents itself as a simplistic, action-packed movie and delivers. I'd rate it well too if I went there expecting a dumb action movie and got it  If it pretended to be more, then I'd be pissed.

For me it represents typical american thinking.. Making money using the death of 3000 innocent persons. Exploiting death, shoving cruel images for the eyes of A LOT of people...

Disgusting...

It depends on the views of a person. To me it represents pure, heartless exploitation (sp?) .

Just that stupid catchphrase: " Do not worry my friend, you are our mission" sounded really agressive in my ears, as if they knew beforehand that there were 2 survivors down there and the entire mission revolves around those 2 guys, not the 2998 others trapped in flaming rubble.

Anyways... I won't go see that movie, ever.

I haven't seen it but the previews I've seen have almost looked satirical. Thats a bummer if anyone involved acted like it was a masterpiece of horror/action... It just looks like dumb, enjoyable, drunk fun.

hmm, drunk fun. Sounds actually quite right. I guess this symbolizes a new milestone, a marking ontop a new rock placed that america has lost the war on DRUGS.

The high rating is because of the internet hype. There were fans even before the movie came out. The fan boys were the first in the theater and also are the first to vote. My bet is that the rating will go down when causal movie goers see it. It has already gone down from an 8.5

Exactly bro.. That's the whole point of the movie. Anybody who takes that movie seriously should get checked out asap.

To the thread starter:

The movie was made as a joke.

It has such a high rating because it has a big cult following. Now go see snakes on a plane!
