Blockbuster Scams Millions

Remember the old Blockbuster? Pay for a few days and rack up the charges if your late..... that made me return movies sooner than later. Those old bloe and yellow boxes always excited me as a kid, I could spot them from 2 rooms over!

Remember when blockbuster introduced the "No late fees" policy? If you rent a movie, you have 3 or 5 days to return it. If you forget, no worries. They charge your account for the retail price of the movie. You then have 30 days to bring it back and they refund the $$ minus a $1.50 stocking fee. If you don't bring it back, you are charged as having bought it.


Remember when they changed the box covers to look like a bought DVD? Yeah, no more attention-grabbing boxes....... And having 30 days? That just encourages procrastination, in a month I am likely to forget that I might owe them a movie.


Yeah, so be careful. Blockbuster is workin' for the man.

what the hell do you expect them to do?

I agree that the latefees were lame. They made all their money off them. But should they just let you walk away with the movie for as long as you like? Have you ever gone in and been pissed off that everything is gone because of pricks not returning stuff?

If you can't bring a movie back in 30 days when it was due in 5, you have no business leaving the house. 1.50 is hardly unfair. When I let someone borrow something and they're that late, I don't charge them any money, but I do rip up their membership card.

Just buy dvd's when they are on sale, I dont hardly rent anymore, maybe sometimes from redbox, but that service sucks most of the time as well..hardly any good movies.
