You'll want to go on a special diet for a week or so.

Mix in a glass of lukewarm water:

teaspoon cayenne pepper
juice of a full, fresh-squeezed lemon
a bit of honey

Chug. Daily. Around lunch time.

Eat: Lots of raw fruit. Lots of raw vegetables.  Or lightly steamed vegetables. But don't mix fruits and vegetables in the same meal.

Don't eat much more than this. Unless it's whole grains, nuts, or such.
Avoid all processed and fried and fatty foods.

Cleansing of the colon can be accelerated through the use of psyllium, flax seeds, and slippery elm. Which coincidentally, are extremely rich in fiber, vitamins and micronutrients.

Recommended to take ground flaxseeds mixed in water first thing in the morning.

Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Very important.
If you drink something besides water, make it fresh fruit juice. OJ is very, very good.

This diet will dissolve mucoid plaque, eliminate toxins and cleanse the colon while providing optimum nutrition. Cleansing the colon is the first step to cleansing the rest of the body. If you attempt to cleanse your system without first addressing a waste filled bowel, the toxins will be recycled back into the body. For optimum cleansing you would want to give yourself a salf water enema after about the third day. :wink:

You would probably only need to do this diet for about a week.

Once the colon is clear, you want to think about cleansing the kidneys.
A better diet (lots of fruits and vegetables) and drinking plenty of water is usually enough. The best thing you could do for your kidneys at this point, is eat as much watermelon as you can. Get a few huge melons and go nuts. Even better, is to eat the watermelon while sitting in a bathtub full of water. And urinate whenever you need to. (not in the water... :tongue:)

After it is all said and done, I would recommend goldenseal supplements daily for further full-system cleansing and nutrition. Keep drinking lots of water every day, and maintain as healthy a diet as you can.

I also tried the Master Cleanser system for 11 days, and lemme tell ya, that mix that you have to make will NOT taste good at all, but a couple of days into it, you won't even care anymore.

Yeah that's a recipe that's been around since the 1800s at least.. though I would use raw honey over maple syrup. Maybe it doesn't matter though.. I dunno.

Go to the curezone.com site and check out the "Ask Barefoot" herbalist forum. I've been into this lifestyle for over ten years, and he makes the best products I've ever tried. Maybe order his first cleansing kit, which I think it $200.00. It's got colon, kidney and liver stuff I think. And not to burst anyone's bubble, but I'm almost 3 years into INTENSE cleansing, and I'm still not all the way done yet. The enviornment and food that anyone 35 and under grew up involved in poised us something fierce. The bad food and toxins build up in us like layers of glue, and it's a long process to liquidize a layer, strip it out to get to the next one, liquidize that layer, strip it out, on to the next one...... Congrats for taking the first step. And stick with it. I look 3 years younger than I did 3 years ago. Getting the toxins out DOES have benifits!!

You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars to cleanse your system though. Just go to your local herbal/health/grocery store and get some psyllium, cayenne, flax seed, slippery elm, etc. Should last you for MONTHS of use. and buy your regular fruits and vegetables. Milk Thistle is also something that would help your liver, kidneys, etc. (and you could take it pretty much anytime) And Alfalfa is one of the healthiest single plants you can get. (Hemp seed topping it) You could probably get a supply of all this stuff for ~$50. IMHO it's just not worth it to buy these 'pre-packaged' deals. They're making tons of money off those when it contains basic things you can get yourself for ten times less. Do some research and you'll see.

Yes it can take years to fully cleanse your sysem, if you've spent years and years building up crap in your system, as most have. But fasting/cleansing diets like these are not healthy long term and can be a major shock to a lot of people. You just want to do a cleansing routine about once every year, and eat healthy. A healthy diet year round is the key to maintaining a healthy system. Supplementing with nutrient-rich and cleansing herbs as needed. A basic one week cleansing diet can do WONDERS for most people and you will notice a dramatic difference. Of course if you just go back to eating crap again it will just start collecting again. Some things you just can't digest, so it sits in the colon and putrefies.

But just do a little bit of research, get the herbs (should be relatively cheap..) eat healthy, drink A LOT of water, and you will feel results very quickly. It's actually pretty damn easy.

Cayenne is a magical herb, mostly because it's the strongest herbal stimulant known to man. It's increases circulation and blood flow almost instantly, (while regulating blood pressure) and is extremely good for the heart and circulatory system altogether. It aids in digestion as it helps the digestive tract secrete more 'juices', and for these reasons it is extremely beneficial by itself, but especially when combined with other herbs, as it helps the body absorb and distribute them through the system more readily. It's a catalyst, but also amazing standalone.

I don't even like to think about how much bullshit I've ingested.

I have fasted a few times in the past. 48 hours without food or water was my typical routine. My reasons were spiritual not health related. Most people lecture strongly against refraining from water, and I too am a huge H2O advocate but going without it can be really intense if you're into that kind of thing.

I'd go with a fruit and water fast over anything else personally.. eating nothing but raw fruit and drinking nothing but water for a week straight or a couple of days.. you don't starve yourself.. and all the acids in the fruit are amazing for purging toxins. Going without water though, even for a day.. probably isn't healthy. Water is life. It's necessary for all bodily functions and lubricates the brain and everything else.

I agree with the cayenne statement, I LOVE that stuff. Although I would caution against going to just any health food store any buying any product. As much as I hate to say it, because there are no real standards (see government) for vitamins and herbs, you can easily be buying worthless crap. I worked at GNC back in the 90's and I remember seeing what our vitamins and herbs wre made out of, along with the total number of active ingredients, and I nearly puked. That's one reason I brought up Barefoot, as he follows Dr. John R. Christopher's recipies, which are just the best, period. And as far as the cleansing/fasting lifestyle goes, you are correct in that too. If you aren't willing to pay the cost for the various levels of detoxifying to re-attain your health, then I too say you should just watch the diet, do a few cleanses here and there, and enjoy the benifits.
