My Lost Wallet

Lost the minute I got to Ozzfest, I now discover that someone is actually taking advantage of it. All my cards, pictures, money...GONE. Just like that, and I check my online bank statement and they've charged a hefty amount to it already. I canceled my cards the day after it happened so they must have used it that night. Regardless, my bank refunding the charge and the overdraft fee at midnight tonight, right when my direct deposit goes through. (All I can think about is that Visa commercial with the superheros: Spiderman-You're not liable for fraudulent chaaaaarggeeessss lol)
I'd love to meet the asshole that has my wallet. If I found one, I can't promise I'd leave the money, but shit I would DEFINITELY mail back the rest. That shit is hard if not impossible to replace. It's kind of scary how fast your situation can go downhill when something like this happens.
I've already taken care of the financial cards, but what do I do about social security and my license? Do I go to the DMV and get a new one? How much does it cost and what's involved? It expires in January, being my 21st birthday so I'm in need of an adult license anyway. I remembered the liscense number, so I'm covered for the time being. I looked online about getting a new SS card but they only send new numbers, or accept reports of fraud. What do I do?

liscense will be some bullshit fee like $10, plus you have to wait in line at the dmv
but you would have had to do that anyway when you turned 21
as far as ss card, there should be a social security office in your town. Its like a government building where you put in a request for a replacement card, then they mail you one in like 6 weeks. People lose those cards all the time and you have to have one for employment so yeah they're replaceable.
good luck and sorry bout your wallet. I know how much it sucks to lose all your ID and shit, I've been robbed at gunpoint a few times for much more than just my wallet... yeah, it totally sucks. I look young so it was even hard for me to get alchohol and cigarettes until the new liscense came in...

That is a drag, I lost mine a few years back, the worst thing, was going to the Social Security Administration office, and standing in line. DL, very easy.

they just issue a new card, they dont do shit about fraud regarding your number there are some serious horror stories out there about people having their SSI accounts locked because of fraud from illegals using the numbers to get jobs and paying in, those peole wont recieve anything when they retire or if they need it due to disability
yet another reason to hate government

My friend lost his wallet twice within 2 weeks at a restraunt and a hookah bar. He FINALLY took out his SS Card. It's already easy enough to steal someone's identity without it, no need to help them along.
