Cleaning A glass Bowl...

Whats the best method for cleaning a glass pipe. its not a bubbler or a bong just a simple pipe.... i just want to get all the resin off it

don't boil it. that's rank and doesn't work.

epsom salt and rubbing alcohol, there's a thread on shroomery about it. I'll try to find it.

boiling your glass is the worst thing you can do to it. It weakens the glass especially around the thinner parts of the piece, or if your piece is jointed it can weaken those joints.

Your best bet is just some 90% isopropyl alcohol. Let the pipe soak in a glass or tupperware filled with it for like an hr or so. Then just go to the sink and get the faucet to put out some hot water and rinse it out. The tar should come out pretty easily.

I did the rubbing alcohol and salt. The salt doesn't dissolve (no water) and acts as an abrasive inside the pipe.

In a plastic bag, fill your pipe with salt, then add alcohol. Shake shake shake. rinse and repeat as necessary.

Wow! I had no idea guys. I have a pretty fat piece and have never had any problems boiling. It does rank though!

Boil some rubbing alcohol in a measuring cup. You'll only have to nuke it for 30 seconds or so. Pour that hot shit in a pipe along with a LOT of salt, give it a good shake and the resin will melt off. I clean my pipe in less than 5 minutes this way. Then rinse with water and itll be super clean. Wear some gloves to protect your fingers too.

try salt mixed in rubbing alcohol, shake it up, use a q-tip to get the hard parts out or let it sit in the liquid.

I dunno if you're into smoking the black crack, but when you're as poor as I am, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, yknow?

Anyway here's how I do it:

-Start boiling some water
-Get a glass measuring cup or small glass bowl, whatever
-put the pipe in the bowl
-get a piece of stranded wire, strip the insulation off of a few inches, then twist it except the very end, so it has like a little brush on the end...
-pour the boiling water over the pipe and use the wire brush you made to scrape all the resin out. It will come off very easily and in 0.5mm-2mm chunks.
-Now take out the now-clean pipe and stir the water in the bowl so it makes a whirlpool. All the resin chunks will collect in the middle on the bottom. Most of the water soluble stuff and ash that you don't want will remain suspended in the water.
-pour off the water very slowly so the resin remains in the bowl, or pour through a coffee filter if you have one around. The coffee filter is more efficient.

-roll the resin into a ball and let it dry. Smokes smoother than straight pipe tar and it works in a pinch. I did this 5 minutses ago and I'm purdy high.

Easy Three Step Process:
1st.
Find Paper clip
2nd.
Scrapeout a pile of pipe residue
3rd.
Smoke it

eeewww smoking resin makes me feel ill...

I have this stuff from the sex shop called 'bong bath'. You put a capfull in your bong a shake it, let it sit for 5 mins and the shit just wipes straight off. Its great for anything, pipes whatever...
