Ive never seen shit, and ive smoked a ton, and so have a lot of people... I also read similar things like this on other sites... whats this about?

If you wanna hallucinate off weed you need to go ahead and buy some hash and just eat it. Or you could not waste your money and just buy some cid/mushrooms.

For something to be hallucinogenic it doesn't have to make you see 'things'.

Sometimes when i'm stoned all the sentences/lines on my monitor bend and warp for a second in the side of my vision. That's cannabis's hallucinogenic effects, for me anyway.

Short Answer:

Fuck yeah it is.

I find it isn't when you're smoking it but it is when you're eating it. It is definitely like a weak mushie trip when eaten.

Long Answer:

Aside from that, the chemists categorize drugs in a broader spectrum than we do.

For example, when the average person thinks of hallucinogenics, we think of shrooms/LSD/Peyote etc etc. Substances that cause a significant change in the perception of reality.

However, in reality, that's a bad name for them as they do not cause hallucinations. Hallucinations are when you cannot distinguish reality from your perception on a substance: I.E. Delriants such as Nightshade/Datura.

These are psychedelics.

In terms of weed, it is deemed an hallucinogen because it yields a hallucinogenic effects, most notably auditory instead of visual (it makes music seem wider--not as much so with shrooms).

I've only really smoked it once and that one time it was supposed to be good shit (I have no idea, I don't like to smoke, it fucks my breathing up usually).. but that one time I was knocked on my ass and had a lot of aural hallucinations. Lots of weird staging, phasing etc. I couldn't really tell where sound was really coming from. As for eating it, the one time I did.. I just fell asleep soon after (granted it was 3am or so that I ate it)

You aren't smoking good marijuana. With some good sativa or hash, sure light visuals happen, things can get trippy, music can sound a lot better and.. well.. don't things taste a helluva lot better? :wink:

Yell at your dealer to start growing better strains or grow better in general.

Cannabis is definately 'hallucinogenic' to me, whatever that means. Audio distortions and musings are common. I hear symphonies, literally (well, theres no vibration, so its more like actively remembering it), as I fall asleep at times. You can also get into textures and patterning, but you have to learn how to focus it. A certain focus and breathing and you can make the patterns and intensity grow. But its also a simple matter to disregard and ignore.

I've hallucinated a couple times off of weed. But I think marijuana is more "hallucinogenic" in terms of the head trip, rather than in terms of visuals. But usually when I smoke it, it just feels like a depressant.

I've never really gotten strong visuals personally, but I've gotten patterning in a dark setting... In fact, last night I was at a friends place and we smoked a few bowls... It was the first time in the past year or two that I've had any visual activity from it...

either way, definitely has some psychedelic properties..

It depends on the individual, like all drugs. I smoke a lot and don't get strong effects, if my GF has half a spliff she'll have a panic attack and think she's dying.

Most people get good visuals and almost no mind trip from 2CI, I get the complete opposite.

It's all about the individual interaction with the drug, there are no hard and fast rules that dictate effects.
