I've never felt comfortable using anything other than FL studios. It's easy interface and the possibilities are endless. I've made a heap of songs on it (probably some still floating around the internet somewhere) but every time I've used it for long perods of times it's been on someone elses computer, so I have no record of all the music I've made which is fucking annoying because some of my tunes were wicked.

Not that 'amateur' sound you get with a lot of people. Lots of reverb, bass etc I was getting real pro but I haven't t ouched it in 8 months. All my friends said my music far surpasses everything they've heard on any Hard NRG cd... I just wish I could scrounge some up.... but I have no record of it :frown:

sounds to me like your avoiding it outta fear that u may not be able to reproduce what u once made...give it a go man...if u truely got skills you'll only get better! tho it may take some time to readjust again

but as for FL ... FL always sounds like nintendo to me.... so ameture... seriously, get your own samples, use cubase, acid, or reason, then blast it in a decent sound system u got (try a car's system)... you'll see the difference right away

no its not fear its just that I haven't had access to a computer that will run it in 8 months.

My friend used cubase to compose his own orchestra, but FL's interface is just really easy for me to use. The one problem was that the sound system hooked up to my friends computer (he has been in germany since january that explains why I haven't been able to use it) had UBER SUBWOOFER POWER ON IT so it was hard to tell what equal bass was, when I put the songs through normal sound systems they sounded very tinny... but on a sound system with ULTRA KILLZONE BASS MOVAFUGGAH it sounded fucking sweet. So yeah, I guess you just have to know hot to bring the best out of the music you make., Granted, most of the synths and presets on FL are pretty shit and sound real dodgy, but if you tweak them enough and use them to your advantage, it can actually sound amazingly pro.

Pilchard is probably my favourite sample artist on there, and haven't heard much else that surpasses him...

it definately isn't a program that can utilise a 'less is more' approach, but it can if you are into 'alien dreamtime' sort of shit (ie - floating on a cloud kind of music... one soft synth the whole way through, which i have done often to use as personal trip music...) but I've never had a chance to use anything else, so yeah... guess I'm stuck with FL

acid sounds interesting though, just dont know where to get it.
