Magical moments

What do you guys have to say about those magical little moments that happen when the music just flows.
When I play guitar, sometimes, things come over me, and certain things just come out, sometimes they are built on what I am doing already but sometimes they just happen, and they sound perfect. Do you know what I mean?
When things just click, and you play something you didnt expect??? Not only does this feel amazing, my mind reaches a state of almost no thought, just action.
In a sense, I feel like having these states all the time, or as much as possible=real song writting talent.?
I try to keep them, but sometimes, because of how cool something sounds, my ego, or whatever gets involved and I end up breaking the flow.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THE FLOW?????? How do you keep it going??

That is fun when you're in that state. I can make those moments on whim by viewing what I'm doing as nothing more than playtime. There really is no thinking to be done, it's all creative adventuring on the instrument. Just like a kid doesn't plot out what they're going to do when they play with toys, neither do you try to contemplate what should come next in your playing. It's on the same level as daydreaming - any direction you take will work out as long as you just keep your imagination going.
You're right - amazing songs come out of this place. You can churn out perfect, upon perfect song. I'm usually too genuinely excited about what's happening in the sounds to get distracted and drawn away from it. I suppose integrity helps.

yes i can totally relate, and it's because of my constant striving to create those 'magical moments' that i can never seem to finish writing anything. to me it doesn't feel right unless there's something 'in the moment' thrown in. here's a quote i like to remember when playing music:
"There is no loftier mission that to approach the Godhead nearer than other people, and to disseminate the divine rays among humanity" - Beethoven

Yeah same, but I always have trouble recording it (whatever I had thought of) before I forget it or lose the 'spark'. It's frustrating that it's so hard (for me anyway) to hold onto but it's a great feeling.

the more you play the more flow you're going to get. flow comes with jamming too, indeed, play without too much thinking (more playing is better improvisation)
I just woke up and now I want to play guitar Who need breakfast anyway *me grabs guitar and starts jamming
