Beer!

I was wondering if any of you have ever tried a "black n tan" (picture below) I think thats the name them. My buddies and me used to get them up in Washington state at a few different bars. I attempted to make one tonight and it actually turned out pretty well. I believe its guiness and any lighter colored beer. If you guys know any other nice "sit back and drink" beers, please add them to the list.

If you're looking for a beer with a strong taste that you and your buddies just sit back and sip on, here's my suggestions:
ANY high gravity beer (10%+), like: Flying Dog - Horn Dog EKU 28 (VERY strong taste)
Most wheat beers(hefweizen) are slow drinks, for example: Hoegaarden Blue Moon War Steiner (any hefweizen really)
You could drink them fast, if you don't like the taste of beer to start with. I drink them slowly though. The taste of hefweizen= something to be savored.
I can't stand most true "dark" beers, they taste too much like coffee to me. I hate coffee.

I love War Steiner. I'll really have to check those out. Thanks Gumby!

It's funny you mention black and tans. I just mentioned earlier, that I was drinking them. I made mine from Guinness and Harp.

A real black and tan is Guiness and Bass. Two of my favorite beers of all time. They taste great together. Cheers!

It's a strong taste, thats for sure. Not for everybody, by any means. I saw that it was 13% alcohol and was like "HELL YEAH, I'M GONNA GET DRUNK!" so I bought it. I intended to drink it like an American beer. Didn't work so well. It took me about 30-40 minutes to finish one beer. The taste can be insanely overwhelming if you take a huge swig. Thats one of those beers you drink slowly and smoke a cigar with.
I'd personally rather have a scotch on the rocks than drink EKU 28, but I may buy it again some day. Scotch goes down much more smoothly

Yep. No doubt about the supremacy of the Black-N-Tan!
Here is a pic of my bartender during a Carribean cruise I took. Man, I'd hate to even think about how many of these things I drank in 2 weeks!!
