? about radioshack hygrometer
    #580097 -

I got a radioshack modle 63-1030 wireless temp/ humidity guage the other day and it seemed to work fine. It has a humidity range up to rh95% acording to the box. Put one of the sensors in my tank and once aclimated read 98%, well I got home tonight and it is giving me no reading only lines where the #s used to be for the sensor in my tank. The channle for my room is working fine though. I dont know wtf is up with that one sensor, does anyone else have one of these things? I need to know whether or not to take it back.

I use the 63-1030 & the remote that came with it. I also bought an additional 63-0131 remote. It sounds like your remote may have given up the ghost. You should try new batteries tho. You may want to try to reset the remote as per the instructions. Also you could pull the remote out and let it "dry" out. I keep my sensors in the incubation and fruiting chambers 24/7 and read them both from the main unit. I put a tinfoil tent over each one to keep moisture from condensing on them and running into the vent at the bottom. The Max they will read is 98% which is fine. The only problem I have had is I sprayed the one remote with Lysol and it surface cracked the lense in a hand fan pattern, but it still works fine.

As a side note the main unit reads the room and has 3 additional channels for remotes. The main does not use a channel.
