Having trouble finding a good hygrometer/thermometer
    #4150030 - 05/08/05 01:37 PM (11 years, 7 months ago)

I hit up three or four stores today, and they didn't have any decent ones besides some that were like $50, which I'm not paying.

Does anyone have a link to a good one that I can just order online? Remember, it needs to be able to read up to 99% RH or so. A lot of them only go up to 90.

It's hard to find good one's that can handle the constant high humidity without spending a little more. I just came across one that does the trick,

It was $41.99 for the reciever and remote. Remote registered 74% on salt test and have been in a 95%-96% environment for the last 4 days with no problems.

I dont have a link, but i went to Radio Shack to get mine. I think it might have been 40 bucks though i cant really remember. It has both hygrometer and thermometer, plus the one you put in the terrarium sends a signal to a base unit that you can have wherever you want. Pretty nifty, can have up to three signals going to it.

this one can be found at radioshack-
there is a remote sensor that you place in the incubator/ fruiting chamber, and it allows you to monitor it from anywhere in your house.
will monitor up to three remote sensors.

costly, though-
50 bucks and 20 for an additional sensor

I used to use just the temp/hygro remote unit from Radio shack.

It broke on me...after almost 4 years of use.

They stopped selling just the remote unit. :frown:

Very accurate!~

The one's I saw at Radio shack didn't read above 95% humidity. The Taylor reads to 99%. And has read 98% in my PMP.

I have the meter that psilo is using, my radio shack is still selling remote units for them. And they do read up to 99% humidity.

The Radio shack I went to didn't have that unit. It's a lot like the one I did get. I might even have an extra if someone has a few nice prints. PM me.

Well damn. I was hoping I wouldn't have to spend that much. Perhaps I can find a cheaper one on eBay.

I only bought the remote sensor bro.

they don't sell them anymore...just with the whole setup.

this way they get $49.99 to $59.99 out of you...rather than $19.99 for just the remote.

I haven't replaced it...yet.

Deal sis!~

pm me!~

Weather Equipment

Do you see the setup youre talking about listed here? I'm looking into building my own tub, so I'm searching for the best supplies.

Thx,
