New Thermometer/Hygrometer Set-Up That Seems To Work. UPDATE Salt test results.
    #4139190 - 05/05/05 08:52 PM (11 years, 7 months ago)

Came across this the other day while shopping at my favorite store. This store is a hobbyist dream. Need a greenhouse, they got it.

Need jars,

No problem.

Numerous pressure cookers.

Everytime I go in there, I find something else. Found a 50lb. bag of crushed oyster shell yesterday for $6.99. WBS, $.19 a pound.

While I was exploring two days ago I found this.

It's made by Taylor. Measures Temp. from -4 to 140 deg F., in .1 increments.

Measures humidity from 20%-99% in 1% increments. You can see the o-ring type casket that keeps the moisture out.

Comes with a 12'cable jack for measuring degrees in aquarium.

There is a reciever and a remote sensor. You can hook up 3 remote sensors to be monitored by the one reciever. This is the reciever.

The bottom readings are the temp. and humidity for where the reciever is. The top readings are for where your remote, or remotes are. I have one in my martha and one in my incubating room. The reciever recieves up to 100'. I can sit at my computer and know exactly whats going on . Hit channel one and,

I know its 77.4 degrees and 84% humidity in my martha, which is on the other end of the house. Hit channel 2 and,

86.5 degrees, might lower that a couple, and 20% humidity in my incubating room. They have been running for two days now and no problems.

As per Pris' suggestion, I did a salt test. After 2 1/2 hours,

You can see the humidity is reading 72% instead of 75%. I'm quite happy with that. So far this is the best set up I've come across. Especially like being able to keep track of everything with one reciever.

Peace,Love,Happiness and Harmony.

Cool. Keep me informed as to how it holds up. It's made by Western which I understand to make a high quality product.
