and the MOREL project (pic)
    #574937 - 03/10/02 10:48 AM (22 years, 1 month ago)

this morchella conica in a layered jar with perlite on bottom ...birdseed in the midle and charcoal from the barbecue mixed with woodchips....hmmm these are the 3 layers...the strain is a native one so i hope i will get them to fruit....if it works the way i see then i will give an email to stamets....BTW...this company is very expensive...and still owes me 90 bucks for rainforest-tea----, never got my money back nor were last emails answered....this is 1and a half years ago....maybe you have to order tons of that stuff that they do it....i dunno...just fed up with fungi.com

here the jar...

sclerotia are forming mainly in the non-nutritive area (top layer:charcoal/woodchips)...growth is very fast...the whole cake took 5-6 days for colonisation...a couple of days later sclerotia started to form...
i did post that here cause the traffic on the gourmet/medicinal section is pretty low...

BiO.

Looking nice BIO! I plan to experiment with a local strain of Morchella esculenta, probably do something similar, I know the non-nutritious top layer is the key to sclerotia formation, I just hope I can get something to fruit.

Anyways, nice work!
