Hi, I was wondering about burning AVI's the sound doesn't line up with the video
I have been burning lost episodes in the AVI format that they are downloaded in.
How do I get the picture to paralell the
sound.
when I watch it the picture doesn't go with
the sound.
I'm using NERO to burn.
Peace,
Zero

I don't know, I pretty much gave up on burning videos for this reason and now I just stream them to my Xbox with XBMC. But for your reference, one cause is VBR audio, if you convert it to CBR before burning you might not lose sync as bad.

Oh yeah http://www.doom9.org/ might be a better place for this question although I'm interested in any responses as well.

There can be many causes that force the a/v out of sync. For the most part, it is caused by buggy software, or by misusing software. Switching between video formats (NTSC to PAL) or altering frame rates can cause many problems if the software isn't well written. This can happen on both the encoder or playback side.

I have ran into this problem time and time again, and suprisingly enough, Nero has given me the best results out of the 30 some different mixture of programs that I have tried to use to get this to work before.

I've used winavi, divxtodvd, nero/nero vision & tmpgenc and haven't had any problems with sync whatsoever apart from avi's that are already out of sync in the first place...

You'll be able to fix the sync issue with virtualdub though for sure, check on doom9 for tutorials, great program & free too
