Yes. If they caught me smoking marijuana in my home some how they would incarcerate me.

They would imprison me for relaxing in my own home, on my own time.

Totally depends uopn which town you live in, the mj rules of your town (and state)... which cop sees you, and what kind of mood they're in, when they see you. Once you break a Federal law, and you're caught... you're pretty much fucked no matter what the State laws are.

You've been incredibly lucky. Don't mistake that luck for law... or you'll see the dark side of a jail cell before you know it.

i was looking at the state by state marijuana laws on norml, and i was very surprised to see how many states have decrimalized it. i'm very impressed, and it's probably only going to get more lax as time passes.

I was jailed when I was 19 (before I became successful) because I could not pay a speeding ticket. I simply didn't have the money.

They used to lock people up here for not paying fines, now they just suspend your drivers lisence until you pay up.

I'm sure someone else has said it already, but the federal government is very irrational and intolerant about marijuana. Certain states are more sensible about it(my home state being one of them), but the feds are always fucking with them.

Man you think thats bad? In the UK cause our drug laws are failing so pitifully they're introducing harsher punishments.

I read in the daily mail (ok so not the most reliable of new sources) that new laws could mean up to 14 years for the possession of 5 pills or 10 joints worth, or 2g or heroin / coke.

I'd hate to think what would happen to someone with a quite large grow op =/

From what it sounds like, there are a number of places in the states where weed use isnt that 'cracked down on', but i've also heard horror stories of other people being tossed into jail for having a joint on hand.
