Fight - Swolen Face/Jaw Muscle

So i got into a bit of a scrap while out on Saturday night and i caught a single punch on the corner of my jaw, right where that bump of muscle is which tenses up when you clench your jaw. A little while later my cheek had swolen up enormously, i look like the left hand side of my face has turned into American Dad.

I went to the hospital for an X-ray the next day, nothing's broken, they just told me to put some ice on it. Well, it's now tuesday and despite icepacks and frozen peas the swelling has not gone down one bit. My left jaw muscle is huge, very stiff, i cant even open my mouth to take a bite from a sandwhich without it hurting, and i think every time i do so i might be aggrevating the muscle and preventing it from healing properly.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can get rid of this bastard swelling?? I couldn't give a single shit about the pain, but i feel like the fucking elephant man and im going to Download Festival on Thursday  :frown: Fucking gutted...

I was thinking of maybe taking some of the anti-inflammatories i've got left from when i fractured my heel last year, or maybe eating some ibuprofen but idunno...?

Go back to doctor.

Tell them the ice packs aren't bringing your swelling down and it still hurts.

Ask THEM for pain killers and anti-inflammatories. And maybe some xanax for that anxiety you're developing about your appearance.

Enjoy pain killers and xanax at festival... hopefully they gave you anti-inflammatories too and you look normal again... if not, atleast you're *ahem* "properly medicated" enough to not care about what people think of your appearance and just enjoy the experience.

Yes. He literally landed a single punch on me though and managed to inflate my face with it :crankey:
