Tiny red dot
    #5669282 - 05/24/06 04:04 PM (17 years, 8 months ago)

OK so two days ago I inoculated my jars. Today I noticed in three jars one tiny red dot in each. Is this the start of lipstick mold? I searched around and saw one post suggest hitting that spot with peroxide. Is this true? I have never had this problem till lately and have done my best to keep things sterile.
Any info would be great!!

red is usually no good.

hook up a picture and we'll hook up an answer.

lipstick mold does sound correct.
I don't think peroxide will work.
I could be wrong. But I doubt it.

it's 3 jars. don't worry about saving jars at such an early stage.

For sure, make certain it's contam. But why try and save 3 measly jars? Are they gallons or something?

Two days is too early to see molds of any kind. Relax.
