Pink Floyd: Is There Anybody Out There?

Hi guys, I was just wondering if anyone has heard Pink Floyd's live album? It is my all-time favorite music to listen to when tripping. I love the overall dark, mystic feel to it. I guess I would also like to pose the question, does anyone else feel like their trips are almost "dark" in a sense? Often I get this "dark" feeling but its enjoyable completely. Maybe it just has to do with the fact all my trips have been done at night and a lot in darkened areas like a car etc. Any input?

Holy shit, I want(ed) to get those tickets so badly but I don't have the money the moment. Anyhow, it's called Is There Anybody Out There? It's a live performance but it sounds studio quality. You should check it out if you have limewire or something like that.

In response to the "dark" feeling...
Might be the "Pyramid" thing your feeling. I'm not educated enough to speak on the subject. I know that there was this pyramid thing going on with several bands..Alan Parsons Project was a major player in this phenomena, and he did extensive work on Dark Side/Moon. Probably a topic for another forum. Just a thought. Peace

I completely understand what you are saying about a trip being dark on mushrooms, it happens to me a lot espicially when watching or listening to The Wall, the live album for The Wall is also great, pretty different from the original. "Is There Anybody Out There?" is definitely one of my favorite songs to listen to while tripping, it shakes me up, such a good Climax to the song.

This "pyramid" effect, are you talking about a metaphor for a pyramid or referring to Egypt? I find that when I close my eyes I am often transported to the desert and my visions closely resemble Egypt and I always see pyramids. You're probably not talking about that but still .. it strikes me as strange. I don't have the whole album right now (it's my friend) so I am not sure on all the names of the songs. But I love the feeling when we play "What Shall We Do Now?" I always feel like there are ghosts and spirits around me.

Regarding the 'dark' feeling.
Yes, I definitely get that. It normally occurs for me when I go intensely deep into thinking. It's a feeling of being totally alone, as though you are the only being in existance, but seeing this situation as a positive one due to your knowing of your own true independance and freedom within the universe, even through death. It's dark because you don't want to hear that you're alone, but the knowing and confidence within you outweighs the feeling. I definitely feel that this is a positive experience.
I guess it may be easier for me to reach this state being of such a naturally introverted personality, but who knows?

That is very interesting. That's also a good assumption about the introverted personality making it easier for you to reach that state. It sounds like it makes sense to me.
I remember once when me and a friend were tripping in my friends car on our way to New Hampshire. We were both in the back seat and 2 of our other good friends were in the front. We kept saying "Lets be dark!" and then we'd morph into vampires and werewolved it was so messed up! But it brings me back to the "dark" thing. After thinking about it for a while I think it could be due to the music we listen to. At the time we were listening to Pink Floyd and then Alkaline Trio.

Well,as has been proven, and I have witneesed personally, that the perfect pyramid does indeed have a "power". Fruit will not rot, blades are sharpened, etc. There are too many to list. Taking certain substances might allow you to tap into this energy. When I was much younger( many brain-cells ago), I researeched as much as I could find on the subject. Was into Dark/Moon, Floyd, and A.P.P. pretty deeply... This was way before computers. Was so long ago, and I hadn't thought of this for years. Might be something to track down. Peace

Thanks a lot for sharing this. I'm definately going to look it up and see what I can find. Another thing that I was wondering ... does anyone ever get the feeling where you stop thinking in conventional ways like words and thought processes? I find myself just drifting along only aware of my consciousness and just traveling through limitless space as a shape and pattern. A good one I can think of was when I was "aware" of being a line and just journeying through the universe of lines. Nothing matter except for the single moment and I was perfectly content with just being a line weaving through the infinite lines. Sorry if I went off on a tangent.
