Treehouses: Builing one - need ideas... :)

SuPz everyone

I have a nice tree that's really big, and it's like split in two with two huge arms....Starting to make a tree house that will be nice.  Any ideas what I should add to it?

I thought about making it real nice & big.  Probably going to add a door w/ lock...windows...make the roof good so it doesn't leak when it rains.......maybe some type of bed and carpet that's made for traffic like they use in walmart, stores, malls.

any other ideas I'd love to hear, i might add them if i like the idea

i think it'll be nice high up in a tree blazing on a different level...birds all around, see sky better....maybe I'll make a room that has some type of see through ceiling so you can see the stars, etc

I'll take pics once it's more build!

use it to get drunk/smoke up in...just make it sturdy and as big as you can...if the branches are right make it more than one level

My boyfriend and I are in the process of building a treehouse as well. Some tips -

Get scaffolding if you want to do it right. It's costly but it makes matters much easier.

Bring your tools up in buckets and tie them to a branch so you don't keep dropping them...that can get to be a pain in the ass.

There were a great article recently in Popular Mechanics (I love that magazine) with a lot of great ideas...pick it up if you can!
