ACID DREAMS. This book is packed with more information than you may need, which is a good thing. But,especially if your paper is oriented towards the history of LSD, this book is a must.

Check out the book "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test" and read up on Ken Kesey, and of course Tim Leary.

That is indeed a good read, but don't site it in a report because supposedely a lot of it is fiction.

That book depressed
Not that it was bad
But because, when I opened it up, I realized the style is scarily similiar to the thing I'm writing (I think I use a bit more detail, but either way I had never looked at the book until after I started)

I just watched the History Channel special. I thought I might point out that Infected Mushroom uses an audio clip (I think its in their song "Tune In, Drop Out" -- can anyone confirm?), but it sounds like a male's voice in the song. "You're so busy going from A to Z that you forget that theres 24 letters in between"... I think they were trying to illustrate that very point by altering the sound clip, so upon realizing its actually a woman, you stop and think, hmmmmmm.
I love Infected Mushroom.

If you want somewhat more up to date (and much more complex) "research"; the following review is one of the best updates on research I've seen.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query...l=pubmed_DocSum
It's also very recent,(2004) and published by one of the more well known "modern" researchers. I'm pretty sure it's posted in the "how hallucinogens work" thread.
-------------------- ...the whole experience is (and is as) a profound piece of knowledge. It is an indellible experience; it is forever known. I have known myself in a way I doubt I would have ever occurred except as it did. Smith, P. Bull. Menninger Clinic (1959) 23:20-27; p. 27. ...most subjects find the experience valuable, some find it frightening, and many say that is it uniquely lovely. Osmond, H. Annals, NY Acad Science (1957) 66:418-434; p.436
