first Good Thread!
I have been using nero vision express to author some .avis of things I've downloaded. But I've switched to just getting full dvd .iso imgs that i can burn a lot easier. I know there must be something more proffessional. I love working in adobe photoshop, and just being creative in general. Not to mention with nero vision express the transcribing of the video to the menus and chapters takes like 5 times longer to set up than it does to actualy burn the data onto the dvd.

more pro? Try Adobe Encore. There is a bit of a learning curve, but its certainly more advanced than anything Nero has put out.

Wow I'm in the same boat as you guys. I just got a new DVD writer and I've been looking for the right software. I've used Nero Vision, AnyDVD (doesn't seem to work), DVD Shrink, and DVD Decrypter.
I'm actually in the process of transcoding an avi w/Nero and it's taking FOREVER.
Certainly there has to be a great program out there that converts all types of video files, bins and isos, and burns them...and actually WORKS. Nero takes way longer than AnyDVD
