Why are all the anti-drug commercials.....

Pot is the gateway drug, if you stop some one from being a pot head you stop them from being an addict to a harder drug. This is untrue though.

Ive seen one in the states about coke.

They were talking about coke and how everytime you do a line, your brain thinks that you are actualy trying to breathe, but since its not getting oxygen but cocaine instead, you are thereffore sufficating yourself.

Dumbest shit I ever hear, seemed like a commercial geared towards 5 year olds.

Those above the influence ads are such shit.

Any kid who has ever smoked a joint knows they're bullshit.

If they would just be honest about marijuana maybe kids would respect them enough to take heed if they advise against truely dangerous drugs like meth, coke and smack.

Exactly, the above the influence commercials are possibly the stupidest anti-anything commercial ever created, seeing as how they are about following the laws blindly without consideration for how you may feel about something: "If someone wants you to do something, it must be wrong".

Honestly, they might as well put on the anti-drug commercail from Harold and Kumar:

I see a fair amount of commercials about meth. Partly because here in AZ we have a bunch of homebrew meth labs. It seems like every other weekend there is one exploding somewhere, usually killing a bunch of young kids living in the house. :frown:

That is because they are advertising it so kids will want to try it more, a lot of teenagers do the oppisite anyway. That way they get hooked and then they get busted with it and make money off the kids off of the fines.

I remember seeing a commercial about meth when I was a lot younger, something about how your heart is like an engine and putting all the stress from going fast on it craps it out and yo can replace an engine not a heart and.....fuck it, i wan't to try meth now, out of spite.

Better question is, why are they only about peer pressure?
Every fucking commercial that comes out is like "think for yourself and rise above peer pressure! Don't let others think for you!"

And I sit there baffled and say to myself... "I have been thinking for myself this whole time and psychedelics are for me! Why can't my friends think for me but some douchebags who are old and jaded are able to think for me?"

Well all of the ones I've seen are about weed.
The major problem here is crack and heroin.. It's at epidemic proportions.

If people want to do drugs they will do them.
Former pot head here... I lost interest in it years ago. I used to smoke every day for years. It just isn't fun after a long time.

No one ever forced me to want to drink, or pressured me, maybe weed..but I wanted to try alcohol and tobacco on my own. Also I wanted to try marijuana years before I knew anyone that had it or could get weed.
So those commercials suck, I never wanted to be popular or fit in anyway when I was in school. I just didnt give a fuck, I hated my high school all geeky mormons and cowboys mostly.
