Filter Patch Bags - how necessary is a sealer?
    #556546 - 02/19/02 06:04 PM (22 years, 9 months ago)

My kangaroo has an impulse sealer that he bought for 7 bucks, but he's not so sure that he trusts it. He's worried about melting holes or making an imperfect seal - and is wondering if it would be possible to instead wrap the tops of the bags with duct tape in order to seal them, instead of using the sealer. Is this a worthwhile idea?

i'm talking about bags that have been folded over at the top and cooked, like in this picture: http://www.sporeworks.com/labnotes/pictures/startfold1.jpg

I have used a twist tie in the past I tied them once then folded it over and tied it again.

But is your impulse sealer temp adjustable??

Ok can you send me a pic or post a pic here of the sealer??

Some sealers are set to work with certain thickness' of bags and this should not be a problem and should not reck the bags.

A hair elastic works fine.
