Contaminated Syringe?

Hey!
I knocked up a bunch of PF jars about four days ago. Today, when I looked, I see little green spots along the inoculation points! All but four jars are infected, and as it happens, four jars were done with a different syringe, although they weren't marked, so it's not possible to know which are which. I'm thinking the syringe was contaminated since it happened so quickly, and since the contams are deep down the side of the cakes.

Could this be something I did?

Is it possible that a sealed syringe could become contaminated inside, still in it's original container? They are a few weeks old, but I wouldn't think that would cause problems alone.

That definitely sounds like it was contamed during inoculation, not from a contamed syringe for sure though. Did you flame the needle?

EDIT: I just realized my wording was a little confusing.
It could be a bad syringe or bad innoc procedure.

could have been contamanated during inoculation or DUE to inoculation. Depeds on how you did everything.

I don't flame between jars, but rather use 91% alcohol, and this is my first jar comtamination, (at least this soon). Also, four other jars, done with a different syringe, did not become contaminated. I guess what I'm wondering is if an unopened syringe can become contaminated just sitting around.
