Is to spray a bleach solution in the lab and to work in front of a hepa unit enough?

Not a hepa unit if you mean a household stand alone filter. You need a laminar flow hood. I used to mist a ten percent bleach solution in the air, but got tired of burning my eyes everytime I had to do sterile work. Now I spray the room with Oust until it's a fog. Let the fog settle, then repeat. After the second Oust treatment settles, turn on the laminar flow hood and allow it to run for an hour before beginning sterile work.

It's also important to remember we humans are the number one vector of contamination during sterile work, not the air. Wear gloves, mask, etc.

Thanks for your help Roger

some questions:

Does Oust kill mold spores in the air or just bacteria?

Is safe to spray a 10% bleach solution to clean surfaces after spraying Oust?

Thanks

Both mold and bacteria. You can still use bleach, but I prefer to wipe down the surfaces I work on, as well as my latex gloves with 70% alcohol.

FLow hood would be ideal as rabbit suggests - a cheaper otion and one that worked for me was a glovebox sprayed with bleach 20 minutes before use - i dont like using chemicals but when i had a bad contam outbreak it was my only choice considering what I had to spend.
