The sound of silence is killing me.

Headphones, Radio, TV.

I actually prefer complete silence, but now living in an apartment again, and living downtown, I don't get that anymore. :frown:

My fan is fairly quiet, which is amazing, considering it's got to be at least 20 years old

On that note, I find it difficult to sleep without a television droning away in the background.

Wow, is this the norm for people?  Having to have white noise in order to sleep?  Am I the freak for prefering silence or are you people the freaks?

I can't sleep without almost complete silence. I used to be the opposite, but it just changed somewhere.

However, white noise is better than colorful noise, which is what goes on in my apartment when I try to sleep.

Well, i'm used to the noise. I grew up in rural Florida, one street over from a barn. I used to wake up to roosters and donkeys and whatnot.

Then, I moved, and I live like three houses down from a turnpike. I'm definitely used to all the noise.

Also, i'm conditioned to sleep like a fucking log. It's really solid.
