I picked up Final Fantasy VII at the local EB a couple of days ago and now I'm straight up addicted to it, even more than I was when I first got my hands on it in eighth grade. By today's standards, every part of it is so dated. The play control is a little awkward, the music ultra-repetitive, no voice roles, etc., but...I'm playing it a few hours a day! Anybody else into reliving their youth like this? For my money, smoking a joint and booting up the old PS1 is the best thing in the world next to sex.

Ahh, I downloaded Final Fantasy VII two or three weeks ago. Brings back memories, haha.
I usually play it at night, with headphones on, out of courtisy for my roomate, and when I'm stoned I can't really take the repetative music though.

Haha, yeah after five minutes I want to toss my TV out the window. Usually I mute the idiot box and hook my iPod up to the stereo. Iron Maiden for the battles and old Billie Holiday for the flashbacks seems to work pretty good

That is quite possibly one of the greatest video games ever created, next to a few Zelda titles and a couple games on SNES and NES. I can see why you would love it. Nostalgia is great
Some of the new games with their fancy graphics and dolby digital sound don't even compare to some of the old school games that are 16-bit graphics with amazing storylines and player control.. midi soundtracks that will blow your mind.. games you can actually get into.. as cheesy as the graphics or sound may be.. the gameplay is just ten times more enjoyable.

Agreed, although I prefer super nintendo when it comes down to it. There's nothing like a solid game of mario kart with the roommates.

I play UFO: Enemy Unknown sometimes. Really dated but still one of the best strategy games IMO. Also Transport Tycoon, I've wasted countless hours on that

seven was so great... i used to spend hours playing that damn game. ill have to dig it out here soon.
my favorite final fantasy was FF3 for the SNES. that game along with Chronotrigger controlled my life for the better part of a year. ahhh, chronotrigger, what if time travel was really that easy?

mmmm...chrono trigger. ive played that game probably 3 times now. that, along with xenogears, i think i could play again and again over the years without any loss in entertainment value.

Chrono Trigger, Masters of Orion, Secret Agent Man, Moebius, Commander Keen, Crystal Caves... Anyone ever play Deathtracks? Best racing game ever IMO.
