I'm having massive nostalgia for my childhood right now...
    #11012944 -

Often time I really wish I could go back and visit it at least another time.

I think my happiest memories are my childhood, I feel bad for people who had rough ones.

This is true, my childhood was not too long ago as it is but alas I do miss mine as well. Sadly, I was one who had my childhood ripped from me at a young age, but the times that were good i truly miss. Don't get me wrong my life has only flourished since my discovery of psychedelics, along with other drugs, but I still think back on how carefree I was and how pure the world looked.

It seems like the more I learn, the more I want to unlearn.

It isn't possible though, I've had a lot of illusions shattered, and a great many comforts shattered along with them. Oh well, I guess it's all part of the process.

I remember when it used to all be so simple...

Recently, sometime in August, mushrooms made it seem as if my childhood WAS only memories.  I clearly remember a lot of things, I can't believe its really been that many years.

I can't believe how blurred my childhood is. I know there's so many things I can't remember that I want to. It seems like some people can go on and on about their childhood and remember every single detail.

I tend to live in the now though and not think about the past much at all, so that could also be a reason why it seems like those memories are so foreign and long ago. But man were they good times.

Everyone misses their childhood but I would guess that psychedelic users like the people here especially treasure those times as children because when we trip we're like children again. Everything is amazing and new and pure and no social biases have been worn into us yet.

I totally feel ya brother, especially over the past couple years I've been looking back fondly on those magical days. Hearing REM, the Gin Blossoms, the Crash Test Dummies, etc, on the radio, in particular, always brings up feelings of nostalgia for the summer days of my childhood.

J. M. Barrie. Yes psychologically.
Barrie was the ninth child of ten (two of whom died before he was born)He was a small child (he only grew to 5 feet 3 inches as an adult), and drew attention to himself with storytelling. When he was 6 years old, Barrie's next-older brother David (his mother's favourite) died two days before his 14th birthday in an ice-skating accident.

One time Barrie entered her room, and heard her say 'Is that you?' 'I thought it was the dead boy she was speaking to,' wrote Barrie in his biographical account of his mother, Margaret Ogilvy (1896), 'and I said in a little lonely voice, "No, it's no' him, it's just me."' Barrie's mother found comfort in the fact that her dead son would remain a boy forever, never to grow up and leave her.[2] Despite evidence to the contrary, it has been speculated that this trauma induced psychogenic dwarfism, and was responsible for his short stature and apparently asexual adulthood.

So very much a reflection of himself. "Peter pan" = JM Barrie

really?
so is peter pan a reflection of himself?

in a way, that's the blessing of a rotten childhood. really glad to be where i am now, this is definitely the good part.

the funny thing is that psychedelics made me realise: oh. this is KIND OF what childhood should have been like; at least, the wonder and the magic and the newness, that kind of thing. i donno, when i was a kid i remember those things from rare moments when i wasn't getting yelled at or hit.

I'm going through something very similar right now.  I even have recurring dreams about it.  I kind of hated my childhood when I was in it, I was extremely bored a lot but I think back to a specific point in time and want nothing more than to be sent right back to it.  Nostalgia should really be it's own sense man, it's really powerful.
