I have loved Beetlejuice/Ghostbusters with a passion since I was a kid. I rented Beetlejuice so many times from this one place, the tape ended up breaking. You think my parents would have got me a copy, they didn't though. They probably figured they would never see the end of it, if they did. :awesome:

Movies in general are great though. People who say that watching movies on shrooms is a waste are stupid. It might be one of the BEST things to do. It almost puts you IN the movie. Ofcourse you have all the nature elitists out there who think you have to be outside to have fun with them.

You ever watched Critters? Nother funny old movie about these lil porcupine looking aliens.

Should be able to find Mirrormask for like $5 at Wa1m4rt now.

I was astounded by how many levels of personality/characters/etc they were able to put into one movie, let alone how many different types of surreal ideas.

Yeah, movies on shrooms is an intense experience. It depends on the type of personality, I think. I also generally prefer not to spend the whole time watching flicks. There's a lot of time in a trip, and plenty of things to do, really. There's no need to restrict one's self one way or another. I just do what feels right.

Personally, I'm highly analytical by nature, and shrooms + a good movie on the comedown puts me in this state of awe where I completely submit to the experience. It's fucking maddeningly wonderful.

I've also watched movies during the more intense aspects of a trip, and this is also pretty amazing, because I'm experiencing this "awe" state; but at the same time my analytical mind is going NUTS on metaphorical interpretations of how the movie (all movies) are basically just a metaphor for the mind-blowing experience of being a living creature.

Best trippin' movies I've seen so far:

Evangelion: Death and Rebirth
End of Evangelion (HOLY SHIT)
Finding Nemo (Seriously, awesome!)
Ice Age
The Fountain
A Scanner Darkly on ACID. HOLY SHIT.

Naw, I don't think I've seen Critters. I'll look it up. Thanks.

Sounds like Gremlins... and on that note, I might have to find that one too.

I'll find a torrent... I'd rather not give Walmart $5 bucks if I can avoid it.

I find that alot of older movies speak to me more. Maybe it is just me. I mean sure their are some good movies that come around these days, but in majority when I go back and watch something hysterical like Ferris Bueller or something, I realize how much I like alot of 80's and 90's movies. :bigblunt:

edit: and you should check out gremlins one and TWO. I think I like two better maybe, but one sets it up. Two is HILARIOUS!

Yeah, lots of good material came out of the 80's. It's a tough time frame to approach because it's kind of awkward and clunky... people seemed to move slower back then, which can make some 80's movies feel too drawn out. But I find they're pretty awesome with a little patience.

Last night I watched "Clean & Sober" with Michael Keaton as a cokehead and Morgan Freeman as his doctor. It was fucking awesome. I don't know how I never saw it... great flick.

Definitely, man. It's transcendental in nature... a storyline that uses metaphor to reach beyond the fabric of our reality to reveal higher truths that cannot be spoken.

Almost anything by Miyazaki.  In addition to the above three, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, and Laputa Castle in the Sky are both good ones.
