Philly Police Find $11M in Pot in Basement

PHILADELPHIA -- A burglary call at a house led to the seizure of roughly 2,500 pounds of pot worth about $11.6 million on the street, police said Monday.

It was believed to be the largest marijuana bust in the city in more than 40 years.

Police responding to a 911 burglary call Saturday night at a home in West Philadelphia searched the home and discovered 120 bales of pot in the basement.

Two men were arrested and charged. One of the men told police someone had paid him to use the house as a storage facility.

The seizure "was the biggest we've had in 42 years that we know of," said Police Commissioner Sylvester Johnson.

$4,640 per pound, must be quality.

If they're going to keep printing these crazy prices, they might as well be honest. 1,134,000 grams at $10.23 per gram has a street value around $11,600,000. And that's if you could move it before it went to shit. I'll be damned if 2,500 pounds is going to get you that.

I wonder if the cops use this burglary call nonsense as a cover for a snitch. I mean, who's gonna call 911 when they have 2,500 pounds in the house?

After frequenting the shroomery news forum for over a year, I can safely say some people are still dumb enough to call the cops while holding massive weight in their basement. Some of these news stories are outrageous.

Yah, i love how cops give the retail price of pot if sold in the smallest quantity, they like to make themselves feel more important.
