hard to find medicinal cultures

Does anyone know where to acquire cultures or spores of species like:
Cordyceps sinensis
Polyporus Umbellatus
Trametes versicolor

They don't have Cordyceps sinensis which dosen't suprise me and they won't ship Trametes versicolor without a USDA APHIS PPQ Permit 526, plant pathogens permit. What in the world is that about?

shymantra where do you live? tramates grows in 49 out of 50 states and im sure would culture easily enough even from spores.. i am thinking of growing out the medicinal culture library this year, i focused mostly on edibles last year but there seems to be some want for the medicinals.. anything else you are looking for? ideally with medicinals, and really with everything but especcially with medicinals, you want to be using what is growing around you in the wild... cultured even that will be giving you more of what you need for your bioregion then an exotic species..

good luck and what btw is your interest in these medicinals? do you want to be doing mycelial extracts? fruiting the mushies? are you a pratictitioner?

I'm working toward mycelial extracts and fruiting. My interest and intentions lay in alternative medicine and cancer research. I would also like to grow out the medicinal culture library.

Also, I'm a little weary of collecting fungus that I have not grown. There's no better way to get to know a mushroom.

I do have Trametes Versicolor in vitro, and easy to find in library culture.

What types of applications do "medicinal mushrooms" have in general/specifically for you? I'm curious so if you'd elaborate a bit I'd be appreciative. I would love to grow out some mushrooms that are good for my body.

I NEVER use a chemical drug if I can use a mushroom or plant first. I have recommended antibiotics only one time since 2000 - and that was because of the $, not the quality. Hands down mushrooms are better than any of the commercial antibiotics/antivirals. Word -

Best bet would be to collect your own spores for the Trametes versicolor and possibly the Polyporus umbellatus.
