go to your local walmart, they have a great collection of humidifiers. id say they had about 5 models to choose from.

Humidifiers are a waste of time. Perlite will get you 99% humidity for cakes and for casings just make the container not quite so airtight or use an aquarium bubbler. Ultra-sonic humidifiers will have a tendency to burn out if there's any back pressure and 'cool mist' humidifiers put out large droplets onto your babies. just mho

Hey Myco,

Cooner, the visiting Racoon respectfully disagee's with you that ulrasonic humr's are worthless in all instances. You ever try to keep the humidity way up in a complete room? The coolmist droplet effect can be solved by placing very small (6 pack size or smaller) electric ceramic heater with an internal fan in the area where the mist exits.

If both are on the same timer, It heats up the mist & via the small fan distributes it evenly. A really good adjustable 200 watt fish tank heater in a 5 gallon plastic bucket of sterilized water also does wonders.

In the same room, a hepa filter on a differing timer that runs after the ultrasonic humr goes off also creates good close circuit ventilation that keeps condensation & contam's down.

In a Steriite 66 or 90 qt plastic storage container perlite works fine, but I prefer a 25 watt fish tank heater in a glass jar of sterile water. When adjusted properly, it also maintains the temp well. A layer of Perlite can get messy & is a good place for possible contam's to get a foothold & spread. But, to each his own. Whatever works, works. Just my humble opinion.
