sorry but i have one more question. im new but i would rather start with pan cyans because i know im happy with there potency, but from research i know they are harder to grow than cubes. Any tips on growing like substrates and temps would be greatly appreciated. and can i use sterlie peat moss for a wood substitute in the growing chamber?

My friend,
From the questions you are asking, I am quite sure you need to start with cubs. It is certainly possible that you might be sucessful growing Pans for your very first attempt but it is VERY unlikely. What are you talking about substituting wood and peat. What The HELL are you talking about? Pans will only fruit on properly innoculated dungs or composts, wheat straw at the very least. Are you prepared to take on this task for your very first attempt? If so, I think you would greatly benefit from doing a lot more reading before you get started. Get some of these questions answered for yourself. Wanting to grow Pans and actually doing it are 2 different things. Everyone wants to see you have sucess. By starting with Pans, you are adding lots of variables that will likely add frustration. Just a little expirience with growing cubes will carry you a long way by giving you expirience from sterile technique to casing (also required for Pans). Substituting wood with peat? I don't know what you are referring to....

As for the spore vendors (not dealers), they are quite reliable if you go with any well known to the Shroomery and its community. Indeed any shady vendors are quickly dragged out into the streets and hanged, figuratively speeking.

www.thehawkseye.com
www.sporeworks.com
www.3mshrooms.homestead.com
www.myco-tek.com
www.mushmush.nl
www.sporechicks.com

Any of these would be places you could expect to get what you pay for. The Hawkseye has some great information about growing Pans. Perhaps this may be a good place to start if you are hell bent on trying Pans fitst. There is always the Free Spore Ring adiministrated by Ralphster44. He is also a very dependable place to aquire spores.

I agree with the previous member. Stick to cubes. As far as the vendors, some are reliable some arent. In the past some have simply took people's money and disapeared within months. Other short lived vendors got into legal troubles. Just do a little surfing and see who has been around for at least a few years, and/or check out other's opinions of the vendors. Keep in mind that the vendors are business and it's not unheard of to plant opinions out there to persaude people. Just use common sence.

the list that trippin posted is not only comprehensive but pretty accurate. The only ommission that he made was Captain Max at the sporelab. Any one of us can set you up with spores and get you going and we have all been around for awhile. You can't do that by ripping people off
